Ok if that would happen (frank) yea I would. I just don't see that trade happening personally. But crazier trades have happened.

There are a lot of teams who need a goalie and would overpay for Murray in a trade, IMO.

who else can address NJs goalie situation in a trade?

I thought you said Murray sucks? How's that help them?

Fact is, having two starting caliber goalies is a luxury. But if you can improve another part of the team, such as a top 6 forward or a top 4 defenseman, and still have one good starting goalie, then that's an easy choice.

Or, you hold on to a two-time Cup winning goalie as your back-up just in case? Nahhh, that would make too much sense.
- Rinosaur

Yes it makes so much sense to hold onto the one decent trade chip you could do without when you know he’s looking for 8 million dollar deal based on Stanley cup rings the team infront if him won. When other goalies had to help him also with those cups.

This is called killing two birds with one stone friend. NJ trades us Hall and gets the second coming of schneider.

Murray doesn’t suck, however he’s not as good as those rings and his pretentious attitude would suggest. It’s just his recently almost gifted Stanley cup rings that other owners and gms will be after.

I am really impressed with Blueger's hands. He has a sneaky shot. Plus he's not afraid to post in front of the net, as evidenced by the nice tip in goal Wednesday. He keeps playing like this he could find himself in the top six.

Thing is, Shero is a great trading GM. We ain't dealing with a crappy trading GM.

Haha, if we can actually get a game breaker for Murray I'm for it. I just don't see it happening.

Plus there is no need for New Jersey to spend top dollar on a goalie this year. They aren't going to make the playoffs.

I think JR is pretty savvy himself. Shero will think he won the trade getting a 2 time stanley cup goalie, and in the end JR will have the guy he wanted and the Pens in the ECF again.

I wouldn’t even call it a game breaker. Just a solid top six winger, then throw in Simon and get, well nothing. No one wants Simon. He sucks. Crazy how even when he sets up Morino for a great one timer his stick snaps. Probably just because it came from Simon.

JR isn't bad but Shero is a damn con artist. Larsson for Hall, Goligoski for Nisk and Neal, Hossa and Dupuis for Armstrong, Chirstensen, Esposito and 1st which was basically a second. I'd very much enjoy Murray for Hall buuuttt...

Right, but why would New Jersey take him? The are rebuilding, they are only going to give you a older player. Your choices are Zajak (34), Simmonds (31), Subban (30) and Greene (37). Drop Subban he doesn't fit cap wise.

Went to the game tonight. The Phil ovation was tremendous.....you could tell Phil was a little overwhelmed. Even for a guy who routinely doesn't show a lot of emotion.

Jarry.... What can you say.... Dude is playing out of his mind. Gotta be their starter til something changes.

Or, you trade him while he still has value and before he costs almost double. He has had played 6 good months of hockey out of the last 15. We could be looking at Cam Ward 2.0. Who's to say Jarry isn't capable? Did anyone think Binnington was a Cup goalie before last season?

Just like with Kessel, you have to stay ahead of the curve.

I've been singing Jarry's praises for quite a while, but this is still a small sample size. This is EXACTLY what Murray looked like when made his late season entry into the NHL.

This is EXACTLY what happened last year with DeSmith and Murray. DeSmith was top-ten in the league in GAA and SV% and everyone was calling for Murray's trade, then Murray comes back and is lights out.

Patience is key. His RFA rights would still be quite valuable. That being said, this is Jarry's net to lose right now.

Just curious, it seemed on TV that the ovation started out just smattering and then built to more of a hearty ovation, almost out of duty. Maybe I'm reading too much into it haha. Maybe people were focused on the video.

Interesting counter-point, I'll have to think about that.
