Or, you hold on to a two-time Cup winning goalie as your back-up just in case? Nahhh, that would make too much sense. - Rinosaur
Or, you trade him while he still has value and before he costs almost double. He has had played 6 good months of hockey out of the last 15. We could be looking at Cam Ward 2.0. Who's to say Jarry isn't capable? Did anyone think Binnington was a Cup goalie before last season?
Just like with Kessel, you have to stay ahead of the curve. |

MM will win the net back sooner than a lot here think.
But he must work on his consistency (and maybe motivation). "Positive" is, that his poor season start will at least allow us to afford him. |

This happened last year with DeSmith and Murray. Murray is a second half player. Regardless, the Pens have a good situation going on. |

Jarry is playing fantastic, he is earning more and more starts. No need to make rash decisions at this time. Let this play out. Having said that, I would be on the phone to Ronnie Francis and ask him if he wants to negotiate Murray's next contract. |

Chicago moved on from niemi immediately after a cup...a really good team needs just average, non back breaking goaltending. It helps to have someone that is capable of stealing the odd game...something murray hasnt done often and not for a long time.
The past cup winning goalies in the last 10 years are not the big high paid heavy hitters. Price and bob and Henrik, while good, have all struggled and I honestly believe it has a lot to do with how much they cost. The best goalie in the world..getting paid like it...ain't helping because the cap hit negates what they bring. |

The Pens current goalie tandem is a 4.46 mill cap hit. Murray has been very solid at times, even this season, and can be again...who knows, maybe he's dealing with some personal sh!t. I think he's had alot of crap bounces and screens not in his favour this year in low shot against games. That will drive the stats down. |

It's definitely not worth giving a goalie a ton of money IF the team can do so. After this season it's looking like we can go this route. |

Right, definitely not for trading Murr this year but I wouldn't be giving him his next deal. |

I actually though Phil had a pretty decent game. Cant remember seeing him fight for pucks that hard very often in a Pens uniform. |

You trade him now for Taylor Hall, then trade Halls rights at the draft if he doesnt want to re-sign |

He did, not last year whatsoever it was definitely slim, however the whole team sucked. It happened more often in the first two seasons. |

We paid to send a 3 time cup and gold medal winning tender out of town....regardless of how u slice the "winning", if you by only those credentials we should never have moved on from maf. - taleisyreXIII
They did, but they kept both goalies as long as they could. Might be smart to repeat.
There's still a lot of season to go and things can change, but right now Jarry is taking the job. That kick save was insane. |

Ok if that would happen (frank) yea I would. I just don't see that trade happening personally. But crazier trades have happened. |
