Actually the NHLPA. Not suing. They have two problems with the grievance that was filed.

1) Buff signed off that he was physically healthy on the exit report.

2) Buff told the Jets he was retiring during training camp.

isn't it the NHLPA suing on behalf of Buff to protect their interest in guaranteed contracts with the NHL defending the integrity of having players sign off on the end of year physical? its possible Buff does not have a personal beef with Jets and remains a potential add for a playoff run.

I agree that it is hard to imagine that everything can be as it was in past years, reconciliation looks unlikely. Millions of dollars, personal injury, medical error??

Buff has to agree to file that grievance which he did, with the outcome that he hopes his suspension is voided and the Jets have to pay him.
In essence suing the Jets for his salary.

But your points are valid, he should have no chance of a favorable outcome.

BTW, some ppl have hinted that is was not Buff who through the track suit into the hot tub and that it was some one else and Buf took the fall. None of us know what the exact events that occurred, all hearsay.

He may have given Kane special permission to wear the tracksuit, which would obviously have aggravated other players in the locker room. In order to get back at Maurice, the players threw Kane's stuff into the hot tub. In order to keep the peace on the team and Maurice's dignity, Chevy had no choice to trade Kane.
