The Coyotes have been rebuilding patiently for years. You're stuck imagining the game where you do five year rebuilds. In today's NHL you can rebuild quickly if you hit on the right players like the Leafs did.

But the Coyotes tried that and they missed out on McDavid, Eichel and Matthews. Now they've got a goalie that is currently out performing what any of those guys brings to the team, and a fairly old roster.

No reason they can't go all in then regroup , which gives them much better odds. The idea that they should waste this year and play for the future is just ridiculous.
