There are 30 teams in the league that have a shot at Taylor Hall next season. The Devils are not one of them |

Lol just because a player is a top prospect in youre teams system does not mean he is a top prospect league wide.
Most of these trades contain nothing. No solid first or prospect everyone trying to send their conditional first and 3rd best prospect thats 22ish and still hasnt cracked the nhl like get fn real.
Its going to be an unconditional first or a Blue chip prospect not 3 pieces that will amount to nothing with the main piece being built around players that other teams have been trying to move forever now.
The devils dont need a top 4 dman more then anything that is just false. They have a couple top 4 dman, they have guys who move the puck well. They dont have any one back their with elite potential or a top pair defender.
They certainly dont need players like
Ghost
Gustafson
Or any other dman that doesnt even play defense at all. They dont need any goalies that are arguably as good as Blackwood but playing behind better teams.
They need first round picks and blue chip prospects. |

A tough offer to beat imo - Nighthawk
Sure is and that’s exactly why we’re not going to do it.
Love to have Hall but no way I’m giving that up.😂 |

I can see the Islanders giving up somewhere along the lines of Aho or another defensive prospect in Bridgeport and a first. If it takes anything more than that which it probably will Lameriello isn’t doing it. |

To New Jersey:
Carey Price
Ryan Poehling
Victor Mete
Conditional 2019 2nd Round Pick (Chicago) (Upgrades to first if Montreal wins Stanley Cup)
To Montreal:
Taylor Hall (With pre-negotiated extension)
Will Butcher
Ty Smith
On New Jersey's side, this addresses their need for goaltending by acquiring one of the top goaltenders on the planet and a much-needed blue-chip forward prospect with the potential for a first-round pick.
For Montreal, giving up Price is a double-edged sword (losing a top-tier goalie but shedding his contract), but Cayden Primeau's surge to the NHL shows that the team has depth at the position. This is, of course, contingent on the fact that Keith Kinkaid is, in fact, an NHL backup and can provide the support Primeau needs.
It also addresses the weak left defense for Montreal both now (Butcher) and in the future (Smith). - kryoung20
Although this will likely not qualify as a "realistic" trade for Ek, it is the most lopsided deal NJ could possibly get. Here is another example of how terrible Habs fans are. They really do hate their own team.

Nj - Timmins, Jost and 1st - Bo
This is the exact trade I would propose,, and probably the deal that will actually take place IRL. |

Eklund: You're the GM. Trade for Taylor Hall . + Sabres aggressive.... Buzz@1 - Eklund
The Leafs cannot afford Hall and his next contract. With that said I propose
Nylander for Hall straight up. |

Toronto receives Hall.
Jersey receives Ceci, Hyman, Bracco, conditional 2nd round pick.
Pick turns into a 1st if leafs make it to the 2nd round, devils get an additional 3rd round pick if leafs make conference final. - aries1976
lol perfect...then you can have 5 players making 50 mil brilliant cap mngt |

They dont have defensemen period... offensive or defensive... Ghost is a good top 4 for them.. you obviously dont know NHL defensmen if you think a guy with 65 pt and 47 pt seasons and usually a + is not good for them |

No thank you.
With Nylander producing like he is, a 23 year old player with his production is a steal at his contract. they can't afford to lose that contract. I don't think I'd make many moves if I'm the Leafs. Ceci comes off the books, along with Muzzin and Barrie, and it opens up a fair bit of cash to sign defense this summer, especially if Sandin and/or Liljegrean can make the jump this year or next, which I feel is pretty likely. Plus rise in cap over the summer. |

I think you and whole bunch of people on Twitter need to go back and review the returns for Karlsson, Stone, Kane, Duchene v2 (OTT to CBJ) and to really drive the point home, Tavares. Hall is going to walk. The entire league knows it just like they knew it with those guys. After all the crazy predictions of huge returns and calls by fans that "if we don't get x, y and z the GM should be fired" the returns have been pretty underwhelming. If Shero does a good job NJ will get a very good prospect but not the trade partner's best (like Ottawa got Brannstrom and not Glass), a younger bottom 6 F or bottom pairing D or another lower level but good prospect, a 1st and another conditional pick, a 2nd or 3rd.
Hall is a very good player when healthy but he is injury prone, 28 and has cracked 80 points twice. He's had 5 seasons where he played less than 70 games. And, again, he's walking in a few months. No team is going to mortgage their future for him. In the Avs case I'd be OK with Timmins, one of Bowers/Kaut/Jost Kamenev, a 1st and another conditional pick based on which of Bowers/Kaut/Jost or Kamenev. Even this deal is risky and I kind of doubt Sakic would give that much. Bowen Byram isn't being traded for Hall in a million parallel universes nor should he be.
