I believe Stan has earned the trust of McD and Rocky - I think they're all on the same page. So, I think you're right about your time frames. And I'm okay with all of it.

So missing the playoffs 3years in a row if they don't make this year he keeps his job plus 2 1 and dones. Time will tell imo its time for change.

Yeah the guy who couldn't score a goal all last season, obviously Bowman loves the guy and overlooks the fact he sucks. #sendsikuraback

You are ignorant of the facts regarding how Sikura can help. He is NHL material and while he may not score s lot in bottom line roles, he will score some if he gets even 8-10 TOI. The performance you have seem or heard from him could have been often in games where Chicago and Sikura did not earn points, so at least in one way I sort of can relate to your disdain. I willing to let his future performance speak for itself; are you able to agree with that. Also I will state right here that using the word "ignorant" is not meant as name calling. Rather, it refers more to the eye test and rationale viewpoint of posters whiom support my with assessment.

I was being sarcastic. I have said many times Sikura is a solid prospect who has scored at every level of hockey he’s played at and had some bad luck last season yet still played very well. I am still ignorant however.

How do you expect to get better playing the same core and I doubt anyone expected him to blow up the core. The clock doesn't even start until core players are gone. It took Buffalo and Edmonton 10 years to get back to the playoffs. Red wings are going on five years Kings three years nowhere close, also their second regime hanging on by a thread. You don't rebuild a hockey team in two years...

If they do miss the playoffs then its time for a core member or two need to be traded. Don't become the white sox or bulls where owner unwilling to make hard decision where the old goes and new comes in.

Should have retooled much better on the fly after the 2014/15 season. All the pieces were there to contend again without a full blown rebuild. Between 2014-2019 guys like Kane, Toews, Saad/Sharp, Panarin, Schmaltz, Danault, Teravainen, Keith, Hammer, Kempny, Crawford, etc...I feel like the opportunity was there to build around those pieces for another Cup run if some smart moves were made. No reason we should have regressed this much as far as talent is concerned.

I completely agree.

It would take at least a few of he heralded prospects to approach their talent ceilng level, another good 2020 draft and perhaps one free agent sign or major trade acqusition. Some new player(s) would change the team dynamic. Because Kane as sole primary threat is not enough. Lehner is in net /watch Gravel. Some veterans including Toews might be solid support and bottom line players - thinking if Toews still playing he is a third line or second offensive line guy.

Stan"s time frame is too soon but he doesn't tell Rocky closer to five years than his exagerated projection.

The fee agent and or major trade would likely be the result of how confidnt or how much you do not like a Strome/DeBrincat/#1 2020 as major contributors. Meaning instead to want different style look. Dach is the icing on cake, the quality other piece to go with your top line stars. This is not a reflection on Dach offensive ability but rather he is a multi- dimensional talent/force in the line up.

I really believe that to get back in playoffs, the preresiquite first and foremost is solid defense. The means Mitchell plus ? as strong defensively in first two pairs. Next to be a playoff surprise, the offensive input from a Boqvist on second pair and Krys on the third pair to be a real lift. Let us just say we hope this outcome is clearly asking for a lot good development within a relativly short period -of- time than ordinarily expected.

Hindsight always 20/20. For sure knew Hossa would never play when his contract hit $1m per yr. Sharp had to go. We're in subtraction mode due to Toews and Kane and for the millionth time Seabrook. I would argue Stan's first big mistake was over paying Toews and Kane. Would have been fallout to end the world had they left. Either way the pain is just beginning no matter who is in charge. Get used to it.

Big chance for Sikura. He's proven he can be productive in the AHL, now needs to show something in the NHL.

Nylander getting scratched for tonight makes a lot of sense. I mentioned he needed a seat after laast couple of games.

If Maatta comes back, I would guess Gilbert would be coming out although he's been really solid.

I think Sikura recall is to showcase him as part of a trade.

Ben Pope:
Colliton said same lineup for tonight other than Sikura/Wedin swap, so I assume Gilbert stays in and Maatta misses another game with his illness

Entwhistle and Carlsson MIS this weekend. Probably same reason(s) as Boqvist the previous weekend. Which isi minor injury or sick

I noticed Entwhistle only listed at 175 pounds. Don't know how updated accurate this information.. He mist be the tall wiry strong type whom could fill out. He wins most board battles at pro level too. Is it his tenacity as much as his smarts ND knsck to one away with he biscuit?

Entwhistle as a two way threat on a bottom line in Chicago would not only be a fan favorite, but exactly the young sort of player in this role the team really could use.

Eventually we shall see if Barry very good thinking of game and skills plus being. Yipper can one to our roster. J needs to improve his skating which is choppy. But I imagine he could force Strome out or at a minimum be a third line center.

Perhaps Bowman is keeping fingers crossed on Soderlund. Although being hlthy scratch over n aHL veteran is not what we would like to see. Ell j is playing well now. He is an exymrly fast checker with knsck to deliver in key pressure moments. Ortin j recently mnrce hs roe with success, according to AEL_FOX

A strength of 2020 Cup winners was the effective bottom line players. Each contributed in their unique way.

Kruger outpayed his opponent and his ad a never quit type so good defensively. Big.Buff was well too big in front of Luongo. Boirque, Burrish others had roles. OMT don't omitt Boland.

All that as in a comparison gorbwhat I am hopeful our bottom line feeder prospects could mean.

BTW: Hagel up with o 7 goals and Kurasaev playing well. Those two could force their way to the parent team after two years in the AHL.

Since the 3 on 3 was introduced, Toews & Kane rank 6th & 7th in scoring. From ‘The Hockey News’.

6. Jonathan Toews – 9 goals, 15 points
He led the NHL with five overtime winners during the 2015-16 season, but two of those tallies came withe Blackhawks on the man advantage. Lopping two goals off of Toews’ total takes him down to nine goals at 3-on-3. Still an impressive mark and among the best since the introduction of the overtime format.

7. Patrick Kane – 6 goals, 14 points
Kane has been McDavid-esque in his ability to control the scoring at 3-on-3, and the two are only separated by a single primary point. Literally. Kane’s six goals are level with McDavid, and Kane has eight primary assists. Players with as many or more primary points at threes: Draisaitl, McDavid and Gaudreau. Kane and Toews have made the Blackhawks hard to handle in extra time.

Loved him since I saw him at WJC. Can’t wait til he gets to the NHL, hopefully late this year or at the start of next season.

Very true. I tend to believe Stan will be the architect going forward. His biggest decisions, however, may well be in two, three years
