Did u watch the game? Hughes was the first one to give Simmonds props for having a response. It's a part of the game whether you like it or not. It's your opinion fine. We are all entitled to one but the players in the league seem to have no issues with it. Remember the article that came out about the players complaining that they have to fight after "clean" hits? Yeah me neither. Maybe you can write to Bettman and request that this absurdity of sticking up for your teammates (which will always be in the game) in order to appease your snowflake annoyance with it.

I’ve been watching Colorado (held on to a 3-1 lead in Boston) and Carolina quite a bit this season - fun teams to watch, fun watching them. Both play the way the game should be played - speed, aggressive forecheck, limiting the opposition at the other end, disciplined....

We’ll see how far each can go against the likes of Boston, Washington, Tampa, NYI for one, and St. Louis and maybe some surprises (Oil? AZ? VGK?) for the other.

Lots of very good teams out there - April, May, and June will be fun again - better if the Hawks can take part, but even if they don’t.

I know. We disagree. You can keep whining about it but it isn't going to change anytime soon. Well aware of the stats and trends of fighting and unlike what you constantly gripe about I'm not advocating for meat head hockey. There is a team concept in this sport and this idea of sticking up for your teammates while it has morphed is still there. However for the sake of arguing this argument is futile I agree. You like snowflake hockey I like a team that sticks together even if occasionally we have a fight like we did last night between Gilbert and Simmonds. To each their own. But you do sound like a whiny female dog about it. Have a good day!

The ex-tough guy NHL fighters with the brain damage, I wonder how they feel about it.
- scottak

About the same as a Marc Savard, who didn't fight....but suffered the same fate. It is a contact sport. Concussions are part of it. And EVERY player playing at the NHL level knows full well the chances they are taking.

Bravo snowflake. Whether I want it to be in the game or not it still is. It will be for some time long after your done whining about it. And your lame old argument that we pining for the old days of meat head hockey are just not true. I'm not hoping for unnecessary brawling or staged fights. But if your teammate decides to step in and is obliged by the other player so be it. What is wrong with that. I'm not advocating that somebody jumps someone, but the way that Gilbert and Simmonds went was fine. And you can bet not a si gle player on either team had a problem with it. It's just people like you and ogie who are butt hurt by it. It's your opinion and it's mine but until there is massive outcry from the players who actually play (there isn't BTW) it will be a part of the game. You 2 whining about it won't change it. Players and teammates feelings about it matters not yours or mine but the vast majority IN THE GAME don't agree with you. Get over it and have a good day!

Your use of the term “snowflake” is laughable. Snowflake is nothing more than a slur used by Fox News to denigrate and discredit those that believe in human rights, healthcare, and equality.

I am extremely liberal and Fox News pundits would say I’m a “Snowflake” for believing that children shouldn’t be in cages and the President shouldn’t be a Treasonous Felon with over 20 sexual assault civil cases.

And yet, I believe that fighting and physicality have, and will always have, a place in hockey.

Put down the MAGA hat and reevaluate your talking points.

Maybe a 4th round pick, 5th round if the Hawks retain 50%.

This site is much better when we stick to hockey, some of you mopes know less about politics than you do about hockey, and that’s not a good thing. By the way, I’m okay if you call me old or boomer, I ain’t as good as I once was, but I could be once as good as I ever was.

Sorry, Lou, I wasn't making a political comment. I was pointing out that bonecrusher commented on fighting in hockey (I disagree, but that's what we're here for), and Enzo responded with a political rant for some reason.

I keep my political thoughts off this joint, so I can keep enjoying it.

Why trade him for that though. Young promising prospect yes but not a lame ass 4th round lotto ticket. Crawford/Keith/Sikura for Caufield/Poehling.

Montreal has Price, what do they need with a half year of Crawford? Habs will not make that trade.

He's overrated. He may average 50 goals per year, but no way he's a 60 goals per year guy.

Price always gets injured. Crawford will be traded there when Price goes on LTIR, and the he will come back for the playoffs.
