Kampf is Colliton's love child, can do no wrong.
Kampf is the sh!tty version of Marcus Kruger (Marcus Kruger version II, after all of his injuries). In fact, I think in a shooting contest, Krugs might just win. Kampf is where pucks and plays go to die.

Which really sucks for Kubilak because for whatever reason, JC absolutely refuses to split up Kubilak (who has a bit of offensive talent) and Kampf (who has none)

JC had no problem splitting up Strome/Debrincat - who have actually shown chemistry - for a long stretch to start the year...but wont put Kubilak with Dach or Toews ever.

Instead, Kubilak gets 8min a game...and all with Kampf

Now, Kubilak may be nothing more than a bottom 6 depth guy. But hard to tell when hes been utilized as he has been

In the future, we all hope Dach becomes a force as a power forward. When he hammers a defenseman with a legal hit and some guy on the opponent starts swinging, you seem to be saying he has to fight the guy for a legal hit. If he doesn't, he's soft, not part of the brotherhood. If he does he's off the ice for 5 minutes, and perhaps in concussion protocol again.

Sorry, I respect your opinion, but that makes no sense.

To each their own. But, if you let players take runs at your "Stars"...and look the other way. Good luck winning.
Earlier this year, McDavid was leveled in open ice by a nice clean hit. Right away, no less than 3 Oilers went right to the hitter and got in his face. No punches thrown. But, you could see the comradery. I said then, Oil look to be coming together. You gotta do that....or McDavid will have a target on his back every game. I know I am "old school" and not a fan of creating a team based entirely on analytics and video game all star teams. I think teamwork is essential, and that why Isles been solid for 2 years while Leafs try to figure it out.
A team confident in each other looking out for you is much better than a team who turn the other way because it is "in the rules".
IMO anyway...

And I too realized you and others think differently...and that's ok. I just never see that placid type team EVER win anything...you need some "Push-back"...

No. Not required to fight. But, a teammate of said "Star" player needs to at least get in his face. NO PLAYER has to fight, some never do. The point of the entire play was Moore saw a guy take a run at Pastrnak and even though he took the short end of the altercation, he was willing to make it known to the Hawk player that it was not appreciated. So, YES....if Kane gets nailed hard...even by a clean hit...A Hawk SHOULD challenge the hitter, at least get in his face. It is "Brotherhood" it is bringing a team together...it is letting the whole team know "We are one".

Smith could have decided to back away from Moore, he could have just held on...he CHOOSE to fight. But, the action by Moore was the RIGHT action. At least on teams that have each other's back.

(Or, you can be an all-skill, no backbone team like the Leafs, and watch how other teams intimidate you into losing, even when you got more skill than 90% of the league. Gotta have Balls man...Gotta "Man-up".)

The way you push back, is by returning the favor, legally, and within the confines of the game. Not with after the whistle bullpoop.

Well, there is THIS from the actual players involved. But, Heck, what do THEY know....

Smith’s hit on Pastrnak is the latest in what’s been a developing trend for the young Bruins forward who has been targeted more in recent games amid his blistering 25-goal start to the season.

“I can’t speak for past games. All I can say is it was my turn there,” Moore said. “I was right there. I saw it and I didn’t like it, so I thought something had to be done so I stepped in and did something.”

After the fight, Pastrnak skated over to Moore and gave him an appreciative tap on the helmet, although he admitted after the game he would have been OK had Moore let it be, especially in his first game back from injury.

“I don’t even know what to say. Hopefully he’s all right,” Pastrnak told reporters. “It’s so good to have him back. He’s such a nice guy to be around and we all love him. Obviously, give him the tap and thank him for coming for me, but obviously I’d rather have him not (fight) at the point he just got back, but I said it’s good to have him back.”

Yeah, quite a few were. Seems his hit on Pasta dominoed into Nylander (who I argue doesn't help the d out anyway.) Unfortunate play, but I'll take the 2 points & move onto tonight's game.
- I Am The Breadman

Obviously not gonna complain about the two points, but the fact that we keep saying/thinking “they won, but....” is getting tiresome. It’d be nice to string together a few wins where it doesn’t feel like they won despite their (there, they’re) best efforts to blow it.

It was Moore’s first game back after major shoulder surgery after last season.

Was it REALLY the right action?

Caggiula, Shaw, Strome - all in concussion protocol within weeks - not the first time for any of them.

Is fighting REALLY the right action?

“I was right there, I saw the clean legal hit, I didn’t like the clean legal hit, so I thought something had to be done about a clean legal hit, so instead of delivering a clean legal hit of my own, I decided to make not clean, not legal hits.”

Perfectly logical.

I’m not sure I see what the love for Kubalik is. He has a plus shot but he has average acceleration and change of direction. I don’t think his two way play is all that. He brings some physicality but I don’t see him tilting the ice in the Hawks favor. His hot start was in large part to Saad being a one man show on that line. Kubalik benefited from the chaos Saad was causing.

That being said he should be given a shot with Toews and Saad for a few games just to see what happens. I don’t think it will hurt the already limited production that has been coming from the Toews line this season.

Red Ass is not only the right action, it's the ONLY action. Moore may be out for another 60 days but no one can call him a lavender sniffer.

If that's what you got outta it. And you saw no admiration of Pastrnak for Moore because of his sacrifice. Then you are just closed minded and will slant thing to how you want to see them. So, agree to disagree, as I said...some think collecting all the best talent and playing within the rules is enough. No fight, no having a teammates back if it means a possible penalty or injury. Play nice and fair and safe. That's great. Good luck.

I saw two teammates that buy in to TEAM play, and even taking a penalty or injury for the betterment of the team. I will take that any day. And read it closely. Read Pastrnak. He didn't want Moore injured, but he sure as heck LOVED the fact he had a defender.

.....and other teammates.....

“That’s the type of culture we have here and Mooresey wants to be a part of it,” said defenseman Torey Krug. “From day one he’s taking everything from what being a Boston Bruin is about in full swing and that’s what you saw. He’s an unbelievable teammate and obviously a great job by him stepping up.”

As for the teammate Moore stood up for, Pastrnak was clearly moved and grateful

New unwritten rule: Every time a goalie gets scored on, someone must defend the goaltender’s honor by getting in the face of the goal scorer. Can’t let your netminder be shown up like that without a proper “team” response. I don’t care how legally that goal was scored, that goal scorer must be made to pay a price for thinking he can just make a good play.

What's slanted? You've written here that a legal play NEEDS to result in a fight in order for the game to be played properly by both teams. Isn't that your position?

Pasta and the Bruins think he was tripped on the play - someone should have stuck up for Pasta and attacked Toews.

Maybe a fan from the stands....

No, they (we) just sit there with thumbs-up or thumbs-down shouting "you and him fight".

Interesting reading the back and forth.....

100% of the time Patrick Kane takes a hard hit from an opponent and a Hawks player does not go to his aid, this board goes into a frenzy talking about how nobody cares about their teammates and should stick up for them and how the team has no character/heart.
