Guys like MacKinnon are obviously going to come into TO with a massive chip on his shoulder because Dubas is STUPID, and overpaid everyone.

Players already played harder for the cameras in TO. Every star loves playing there, their stats vs the Leafs show it. But now every team has a couple guys who think “I’m better than Nylander/Matthews/Marner, I’m going to throw it in their face.” This is bad for other GM’s around the league because their own players will demand more money (like the Leafs), which will only embolden a dislike for Toronto.

The Leafs aren’t doing themselves any favours. They pay their guys like they’re the big bad wolves of the NHL, but they aren’t, they’re mostly sheep..

Mackinnon is on a cheap deal because he did not equal or exceed his rookie season until year 4. That did not happen with our guys.

You are aware Willy's #'s are actually better than Mckinnon's through their first 4 years, right? It's amazing how everything is forgotten. Mckinnon had a great first 40 games in his rookie season and then plateud for 3 years.

I’m all for Auston Matthews calling out the Maple Leafs players after a pathetic finish to Tuesday’s game but if he’s going to do that he damn well better be the best player in the next game. As much as I love Auston, I’ve got to say I think that both Marner and Hyman stood out more in last night’s game.

Just so you know...stars around the league are happy that guys like Marner and Matthews are getting paid. It helps all the stars.
The bottom six and older guys....well....that's a different story.

This is nonsense. You brought up salary. Those #'s gave that salary to him.

I don't think you win a Matthews trade right now.

You have to figure out how to motivate him or correct whatever it is that is bugging him. For all we know, there are issues off the ice.

Unless the return is spectacular, you can't give up on a talent like that.
