Hopefully Keefe torched the boys after last night... or is that considered abuse now? - Hockey_Reverend
I think he did..
The honeymoon is over. I have a feeling they’re going to hate Keefe, especially if they don’t win tonight.. |

There are now reports coming out of Philly that Alain Vignault made practices mandatory - players had no say in whether or not they wanted to attend.
It's just a matter of time before he gets fired. - Atomic Wedgie
That's awful. Hockey culture is so bad. As Canadians we should all feel shame right now for allowing this to happen. |

Hmmm... perhaps Babs wasn’t the problem. Is it possible this team is not as good as we thought they were? |

Are you saying we are the new Oilers? GOD NO!!!!!
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!
- Hockey_Reverend
Yup. Finish 6 points out of the playoffs for 10 years and get a middling first (if it hasn't been traded away), every offseason. But super duper fun though. |

Like Rocky, they lost the Eye of the Tiger after getting paid. They should have hired Apollo Creed as coach instead of Keefe. |

there is a few who score at his rate at 5v5..actually since he came in the league he is #1 (or was last time I looked).
Its basically Ovechkin, who scores a ton more on the PP. and Ovechkin signed his deal for 16.82% of the cap - senstroll
I get the 5vs5 thing. But that's only one aspect of hockey. Ovechkin may not score 5vs5 as much but he'll hit guys through the boards. He uses his size to intimidate. His defence isn't great but it's certainly good enough. |

Babs was the problem in the sense that they tuned him out. But you have to question the character of the players if they’re pulling that shït already, as 22yr olds.
This is the pain Babs spoke of, he meant there’s a period where they players are going to have to “grow up.” But they chose to not, pout, and get their coach fired.
Bold strategy.. |

At the beginning of the year a lot of guys were saying how unimportant the backup position was to defend the actions of Dubas. These days cup winning teams starters are playing 55 games. Thats 54 available points to the backup. It' huge. - aminnes
I thought Hutch and the team could do it. But losing EVERY game is dismal. I figured .500 would suffice. |

No. But not working hard means you won't win regardless of talent or development. They changed the culture there. |

Matthews and Nylander is starting to remind me of Edmonton when they gave RNH, Eberle and Hall big money deals out of entry. They were just as casual in they own end, and only cared about scoring. - aminnes
Yeah and they had to trade two of those guys and the third is always in rumors.
These guys got paid like established stars instead of getting bridge deals for guys still learning how to be money every game.
This is why people outside leaf nation were saying these guys might be overpaid. |

I sure wish we had a backup with 0.94 save percentage who can steal games, and is comfortable as the permanent backup, on a good contract
