You can tell Frost is older and a bit more seasoned. The variance between his highs and lows is a bit tighter than Farabee's. - Tomahawk
I'm impressed with Frost's all around game. I knew he had the offensive talent but didn't think he was that solid in other areas for a young player. Personally I think Vigneualt's overload systems have a lot to do with it and how young players are protected. |

The defenders are flat footed at the blueline too, that's what makes the slingshot so effective. One guy with speed can enter the zone w/ possession, pushing the PK'ers back, allowing the attacking team space to set up. - Tomahawk
It has not been effective though, for us at least. I agree Jake would help PP1 with the breakout. It was horrible last night, both units. |

First of all, it's not always one player coming up with speed. Often there is a player moving parallel with the puck carrier across ice. Save you the everyone uses it? Why do you think that is? The reason why every team uses it is because executed properly, it is very difficult to defend. - MJL
Why can't we execute it? |

As MJL says, when it's done right, it's really effective.
When it's off, it can look pretty stupid. |

I personally am a little disappointed in Sanheim so far this season. That might be because of the expectation that I had that was probably unfair in hindsight. It's not that I think he is playing poorly. After the year he had last year, I thought he would explode offensively this season at 5 on 5 play. Might have to do with adjusting to a new style of play. - MJL
same boat, want more from and for him but it was unfair. With new coach, system and D pairing I should have tapered expectations. His D has been goode. I do expect a good 2nd half from him. |

That's a lack of execution rather than a scheme issue. |

I think the Couturier unit does do it. |

He's been one that enters with possession, Jake too but that first unit is infuriating to watch try it. |

In my opinion, the original puck carrier does not do a good enough job of driving the defense back to their blue line. If that's not done and the pass is made too soon, the defenders are not caught flat footed. |

Provy tends to look indecisive on the drop pass, not sure if thats who you meant or the first guy after the drop. |

I can't recall ever seeing the arena as empty as it was last night. But heck of a game to be at, especially that ending. Keep it up boys! - five4fighting10
Oh, I can. Western Conference teams in the dead of winter don't draw. |

If you drop it too soon, you don't get that stationary cluster(frank) of pilons at the blueline that you want. Gotta skate it to around the red line, then drop. |

If Vorobyev is going to center JVR and Pitlick, this is an excellent opportunity for him to showcase his strengths. I think he might have played with JVR some last year but this could work. I will still miss Raffl, he was having a good year overall.

Solid affordable utility player all teams need. - wolfhounds
This probably the most impressed I've been with him. And that's taking into account his 1st line days with G and Jake. |

I think a lot can be attributed to being partnered with Braun who is an anchor on offense |

I don't see it having to do with Braun specifically. Maybe somewhat to do with deployment. I think most of all, Sanhiem needs to do a better job jumping into holes coming late.

Raffl is definitely underrated. Especially by a few idiots in here. |

Cant disagree with that. He was definitely more aggressive and opportunistic last year |

I think he's been a guy who I haven't noticed much (aside from his consecutive games where he fell down). That is fine for a guy like Hagg, but you need to be noticing Sanheim more, especially on the offensive end of the game. So I don't think he's been bad, he just hasn't been as much of a factor as I'd hoped. - jmatchett383
does anyone know the numbers....I feel Sanhiem is getting more minutes this year and matching up against better competition. I think Gordon released the d a little last year, more so than Hak did with the young guys. |
