The answer to that is pretty obvious if you ask me. They need a center for the 4th line. They don't want to break up the Hayes line. - MJL
Could any of Pitlick, Vorobyov, Andreoff, or Bunnaman player center? If so, why not waive Stewart and recall one of them which would allow you to not have to use more LTIR?
That being said, since Patrick is already on LTIR, do they gain anything by not putting one of Raffl or Morin (if eligible) on LTIR? |

“Stewie” isn’t any long term solution that’s why they will call up a replacement. A game or 2 then would likely be no recall......poor NAK - daryl stanley
Idk why you're so in love with NAK hes not exactly tearing up the AHL |

I see him as a poor man's Andreas Nodl, which is saying something. Basically a dime a dozen tweener. If we had the lack of farm depth we did in the early 2010s (think Ben Holmstrom, Jon Kalinski, Harry Zolnierczyk, etc.), NAK may have had more of a chance. |

my god why can't people enjoy this team? they have 9 kids under 25 making big contributions including a goalie. they still have a way to go to be a cup contender but are fun to watch. it amazes me with all the but comments. every game....they won but.... - nastyflyergirl
It's because we've been damaged/scarred as fans of this team. Not sure how old you are but some of us have been through a LOT of "almosts" just to have the rug ripped out from under us. After a while, it creates a lot of pessimism. Human nature imo. It will take more than a month or two of promising looking play to soothe most people. I'm loving the ride right now but definitely can't forget the past so quickly. |

Seems like they're set on keeping Stewart around for reasons. And they probably don't wanna get stuck with only 12 available forwards.

Still need a 13th forward. They're already using LTIR. There is no downside to placing Raffl on LTIR and calling up a player at this point.

stewis is a fill in for a game or 2. He is fine as a 13th fwd as he isn't a prospect who needs to play. Any long term injury they wont use him imo as they know they likely have better options. |

I had forgotten that Patrick was already on LTIR, which means they don't lose anything by putting Raffl or Morin on it as well. |

Love the way Hart played last night, and his overall play on home ice. Need to see him play a little more consistent on the road.
Home - GAA 1.48 Sv% .944 - outstanding
Away - GAA 3.78 Sv% .849 - not so much |

I’m loving everything right now but also expecting the yearly 10 game losing streak to happen.

They might go with Morin in case Raffl is ready to go sooner than expected.

Agreed. Hopefully they keep Laughton with Hayes and Farabee. That line has been really good. Andreoff seems like the obvious choice to be called up. They only have 22 on the roster right now.
The Giroux line was absurd last night. That line outshot the Leafs 10-0, outchanced the Leafs 13-0 and outscored the Leafs 2-0 in 9:06 of even strength time. Wowsers trousers! |

LOVE this quote from Hayes last night
“Yeah, I mean, everyone has a lot of faith in each other,” Hayes said when asked the same question. “This is probably the tightest team I’ve ever played with. Our leaders lead from the front, and it’s easy to follow. It’s a lot of fun to be on the ice. It’s a lot of fun to go to battle every night. And even if the other team scores, we’re not really panicked, and it shows.”

That's the fear when playing a lot of tight games. One play or bad bounce and it can go the other way.

They will have a slump no doubt. Every team does. However, I do not foresee an extended losing streak with this team. They have played winning hockey this year. Also, the coach knows what buttons to push to motivate. |

It's ridiculous to play against players like Taveras, Reilly, Matthews and only allow 3 shot attempts in an entire game. |

Yes, after 10 games or 24 days. Whichever comes first.

and to follow that up Meyers said something along the lines of, "we don't have a bad guy in our locker room...we trust our coaching staff and their system" |

He looked ok but he still had his share of gaffes. Like passing the puck directly to a leaf in the dzone and failing to hinder Tavares at all early in the game around the crease almost scoring
This game was really a huge Carter Hart game. Kept the game scoreless when it could’ve been at least a 2 goal leaf lead - Just5
Ghost had a great game and then the lass two shifts he had were not so great, the gaffe as you mentioned was tough, but it's a process and that was a step in the right direction imo. |
