I'm not debating he doesn't have value, just not as much to bring in some of the returns being theorized, if he is indeed as lazy and ineffective as some here make him out to be. It doesn't make sense to lob complaints about his game and then turn around and trade him and an AHL goalie for a top 4 defensive PP quarterback, a 24yo nearly point per game player, a young quality back up goaltender, and a tire fire of a team's 3rd round pick.

What leads you to believe we will be paying this guy anything over $2 million?

22 year old bridge deal of his caliber is likely 2.5 million-3 million depending on the term.

The Leafs aren't paying him that to play on the bottom pairing.

So Toronto fans are the only ones that see now that he is a lazy selfish player, but not the paid scouts of teams, who will be sent to watch him and evaluate him, in order to gauge his value? Got it.

Yeah, agreed.. But fans have a love-hate relationship with Nylander. Not so much with Marner and Matthews.

Think he's ready now. Will be Barrie's replacement. Plays with more intensity at least than the other defensemen. Think Holl has progressed nicely this year too.

Dubas’s undoing will be that he paid 3 kids too much money, and now he has no choice but to succeed with them. He put all his eggs in (a very unproven) one basket. He didn’t do his homework on them, he just assumed that the NHL is going soft, and that the Leafs could get ahead of the curve. But he went full-Disney.

so shore is off to the Peg and one less contract for da Leafs.
