Your fault if you thought he would get a lot of PP time. Krug mans that top unit and it's heavily utilized - RickJames77

Dermott really needs to show he can play in the top 4 soon.
With Lil and Sandin waiting in the wings to nab his spot as the number 5 guy it is put up or shut up time for him.
They can't afford to pay him next year to play on the bottom pairing. |

what could possibly lead you to the conclusion that ceci is underrated?
he fails the eye test
he fails the advanced stat test
he fails the traditional stat test
he fails the "don't make 6 boneheaded plays per game" test
he fails the "don't turn your Norris calibre D partner into a pylon" test
exactly what has he done in his career (both in Ottawa and Toronto) to show that he's anything more than a mediocre bottom pairing dman - sensarmy_11
You obviously hate the player. He’s been decent from what I’ve seen.
He’s also made more saves than Hutchinson. |

Nylander has not been the problem. I think he’s been good. He also breaks up a lot of plays, steals a lot of pucks and back checks. I don’t think we’re watching the same game. - bryant

"William Nylander is one of the best two way players in the NHL is most definitely worst hill I’ve seen the stats community die on. This is worse than Franson is elite, Gardiner is elite, free Frankie Corrado... combined"
- CarlitoBrigante
Has anyone ever seen someone actually say " one of the best two way players in the NHL"?
where are these posts? |

Keefe will lose his patience soon......Nylander is still a must trade , we dont need him with marner back.... he will get you a lot in return and defence is what we need ....and a bit of truculence - CarlitoBrigante

Think he's ready now. Will be Barrie's replacement. Plays with more intensity at least than the other defensemen. Think Holl has progressed nicely this year too. |

What leads you to believe we will be paying this guy anything over $2 million?
Other than that fact that Dubas gives away money... |

If Nylander is as bad as everyone who hates him and wants him gone says, then why do they then turn around and say "he will get you a lot in return" or put him in some absurdly one sided deal in favor of the Leafs? You can't have it both ways. - RickJames77
He has value. He’s skilled. He rides Matthews to 60pt seasons. Trade him before he get completely exposed as a lazy, selfish player. |

Nah
He is here for a long time. Get him a partner that is not an average number 5 D.
Dermott and Johnnson/Kap
That might fetch something decent.
I am willing to wait on Dermott but if he still hasn't proved he is a guy who can be trusted to play 2nd pairing mins then it might be time to move him to a team that has the patience and the cap room for him. |

zaitsev doesn't look out of place on a 2nd pairing...............ceci looks out of place on an ice surface no matter what level he's playing at - sensarmy_11
the thing is NZ to me didnt stand out like Ceci or Gardiner in terms of that obvious screw up, but more in the small things that add up to a lot of bad over seasons.
So you can somewhat think he is a fine 3/4...but he ends up hurting your team. and had awful stats |

So Toronto fans are the only ones that see now that he is a lazy selfish player, but not the paid scouts of teams, who will be sent to watch him and evaluate him, in order to gauge his value? Got it.

I don't see anyone saying he is a top two way player...
He is much better in his own end than he gives credit for. He also back checks better than most on the team.
If anyone has been a liability in their own end on his line it has bee Matthews. - Santo_44
I think the issue with Nylander is that he'll make a really good play on one shift and then on the next shift do something that looks like he's not giving a full effort. |
