In the off season Shero will choose a Coach with a Pittsburgh/ Wilkes Barre Pedigree, but a name familiar to Devils Fans. The current coach of the Providence Bruins Jay Leach.

You realize none of the teams you mentioned, Blues or Leafs, brought in a coach from outside of their organization right?! Your argument is (frank)ing horrible lmfao. Saying we should go out and bring in a coach from another team or a coach that doesnt have a job, then list teams who did EXACTLY WHAT WE JUST DID. They didnt go out and "find decent coaches", they went with guys already in the org or on their bench already. Guess what, Berube was Mike Yeo's assistant in St Louis last year, just like Nas was here. Keefe was in the Leafs system as the Leafs AHL coach. You also forget that the Blues were under .500 in Berube's first 20 games when he took over. That team went on a run for other reasons other than a coaching change, like bringing Binnington up who went on a tear. We have so many more issues than the coaching staff right now. This season is done. We have no idea how Nas will be as a coach. Shero will take his time to get the right coach in the offseason and i think thats the right move. I agree with other previous posts, the Swedish coach Rikard Gronberg would be near the top of my list to try to get.

I didn’t say you couldn’t bring in someone from the organization. I started with the next Penguins coach. Bring in Kowalsky or Dennehy. That’s fine. But to keep the guy who’s been eating the corn out of Hynes poop for 10 years is retarded.

The defense Nesreddine is responsible for sucks ass. How does that make him an acceptable interim replacement?

Shero took his time when he picked Hynes. You don’t think he can take his time and make another poopty pick.

Then why use the Blues as your example of what we shouldve done when he did the exact same thing as them? Fired our head coach and named an assistant as the interim. Thats exactly what the Blues did. The blues turned their season around not because of the coach they brought in, and if you're gonna say that we have a chance to turn it around because the blues did then you're delusional. I have no issue with using Nas as the interim, something needed to be done and removing Hynes was the easiest move to make. Our defense is (frank)ing dogpoop no matter who is coaching it. We have 2, maybe 3, legit NHL caliber D and then a bunch of bottom pairing or AHL level D playing, and it doesnt help when you dont have a goalie that can bail somebody out when a mistake happens. This team is just garbage. If you're blaming everything on the coaching then you know (frank) all about hockey. Like i said, this team has many issues, getting the "perfect coach" isnt going to solve it.

I think he used the Blues and Leafs as examples of teams that replaced ineffective coaches with competent coaches. No one is talking about the “perfect coach,” but look at what Nas was responsible for as an assistant. Did he have any responsibilities that didn’t result in calamitous failure?

Also, which of the dmen are AHL level? Sure, no one is arguing Tennyson or Mueller should be nhlers. I assume Vatanen is one of the ones you consider legit. Severson or Butcher? Greene, who literally led the NHL in blocked shots last season? Subban, who was a Norris finalist less than two years ago? Sure, he looks absolutely dreadful this year, but maybe that has something to do with the (frank)ing coach.

Saying no one could make the defense better than dogpoop is just ridiculous. A lot of teams don’t have defensive groups much better than we, they just have a coach who understands defensive schemes and gives the players an understanding of what they should be doing on the ice. It seems pretty clear that up to this point, that’s not something Nas has accomplished.

I have no idea how Nas will be as a coach. But as a fan who has found this season pretty damn disheartening, I look at his hiring and see no reason for optimism, no reason to expect anything better than the poopshow we’ve gotten all season.

Berube was with Yeo for a little over a year. His career wasn’t interconnected like Hynes and Nesreddine for a decade. My complaint is it’s too similar.

I have zero expectation a coaching change is getting us into the playoffs, let alone the cup. But a better choice might bring some constructive change and respectable play. And maybe start setting things up for a good season next year.

I actually do coach kids hockey and I know the right coach can’t fix everything wrong with this team. But more of the wrong coach won’t change much either and that’s what I think Nasreddine is.

Yes the team has flaws. But this team is playing worse then the sum of its parts. It’s not all one thing but the coaching or more specifically the systems and schemes Haynes and Nesreddine implemented were not working and the team was an embarrassment. If a change was warranted why change to the closest possible thing?

This isn’t even a mentally fresh start for the players. It’s just a line of succession.

That’s why I think it’s stupid. You’re entitled to feel differently. Regardless it’s Nesreddine’s job now and we will see how he does and what Ray does next.

This is the most important part. We're going to be selling the next couple of months and at the deadline, Shero needs to nail these trades. Obviously the upcoming Hall trade is the biggest trade and Shero needs to nail it, that trade will have a big impact on our future. But other guys will likely be going too, mostly some upcoming UFAs like Vats and Simmonds, but also Wood's name has come up too apparently. Ray has a lot of work to do in the coming months, then the coaching search going into the offseason.

Maybe its just me but watching the game it looked like the players think Nas is dumb. When he spoke to them, they had a face like "yeah whatever a hole". I saw it several times from all different players. Hall looked at the guy like he wanted to punch him. I though they should give him a little more respect frankly, but it is just something I noticed. He does speak a little strangely with the accent so they may have been trying to understand what he was saying.

Either way, I don't think this will have much longevity.

Chico is the only one I like to listen to. Yes he's a huge homer, but I find him very entertaining.
