I agree they all need to go. But I guess they can't fire the entire staff on game day so someone had to stay.

My guess is Bylsma is the next suitor but who knows. Babcock is being floated by the media as a jerk, and a "mean guy" (I personally thought that is kind of the coach's job to be a hard ass) but he knows how to win games. This is what we all waited for. I always liked Barry Trotz - does he have a contract beyond this year? If not or there are others up for grabs at season's end that are real good coaches I could see them waiting out the year. At least we won't have to look at Hynes being flabbergasted every night.

Watch the them win tonight lol.

Hiring Babcock would be a poopshow at this point. Look at all of the other reports that are coming out about him. He apparently pressured a reporter for writing a story he didn't like and verbally abused him. Guy is a nutcase.

Bylsma, I hope not. If they hire Bylsma then Shero can only bring in his buddies!!!

Next up is to trade Hall. Nas will be here for the rest of the season, then a full and thorough coaching search during the offseason.

well this at least makes tonight's game interesting. How will the players respond, and what, if any, systematic changes will we see on the ice?

yes, agree....the first thing I like to see is his line-ups for tonight...that should tell us if he and Hynes saw differently.

I mean, Hynes tried almost every combination lol. I liked last night's lines on paper. It's just I don't think any combo could be effective with how Hynes lost the room and everyone sucking.. similar to the MacLean fiasco.

No more restrictions on Hayden and Wood. Top-6 minutes every night.

I doubt we see any changes tonight. Nasradeine is going to apply the same system. Same awful power play (another drop the puck back pass) and horrible defense.

You guys need to look at the positives. At least you're not going to see that shiny bald head with the dead eyes and blank stare anymore.

Yes the problem with MacLean was the team had no structure in it's game (similar to how we are playing now). That's why when Lemaire came in, implemented his system(structure) the Devils started playing good once again. I have no faith in Nas but he's just a stop-gap until we find a coach who has a system (structure) that will benefit our players we have. (Like Trotz did for the Isles)

So will Nesreddine hire a defensive coach or are we just cutting the number of staff members?

Shero worked with him in Nashville and had a positive experience with him. Trotz wanted him on staff. He also briefly coached in Toronto and Florida for a hot minute. so there's that.

Yeah, and maybe instead of poop the next Eric Lindros will come out my ass the next time I take a dump. But I wouldn't bet on that happening.

loose quote:
I can't say any of the 23 players have played to the level they're capable of. Usually you have 5-6 players having a down year or 3 players playing really well. It's hard to see after 20-something games here that we've had that from anybody. Everyone here has a clean slate, and nothing is predetermined. Internal competition. Start trusting each other. The way we lost those games was disappointing and had us questioning a lot of things in terms of the players. Really want to see where this goes and see... and now my coworker is distracting me. .. "we'll see where it goes and evaluate. We'll see how the players respond over time. Our teams are very well prepared but it comes down to execution. You saw the game last night... I mean we can't make a 5-foot pass. When it comes to coaches, Nas has a good feel for this team.. maybe assistant coaches will have a different voice now with Nas and we'll see where it goes."

Fitz had opportunity in 09 after the Pittsburgh cup, but he wanted to do management. Not a longer-term option, we have other guys that coaching is their passion and Fitz is in management.

It's not 1 particular player, almost everybody.. that's the frustrating thing for the players and us. It's not just 1 player.. it's 23 so it's hard to say. We'll see where Hall's game goes as well. The players care and we'll see with the opportunity where it goes. It's everyone, not just one. so.. we'll see. Thanks guys.
