It’s gotten to the point where all I can do is laugh when 12 shoots. He needs to change something up. Try a different stick curve, a New Jersey number (a bit drastic), or maybe he needs to wear two different gloves like Geno was doing 😂

You know if that was Simon he would have shot that right into Binnington.

Yeah that was a nice goal. Great hand eye, good control, good positioning. He also kept the play alive with solid pursuit and doggedness. A night and day shift from his nonchalant play earlier in the game

Now keep them together, put Simon in with Blueger and ZAR and put Galchenyuk or anyone besides Blandisi up top!

I’m dead serious. I think it’s a really good idea right now. Maybe cut his sticks an inch shorter or make them an inch longer. Change brands. Start drinking before the game. Something!

Or drink during the game like Chris Chelios did during the outdoor game when Babcock benched him.

I actually feel bad for Simon at this point. Dude knows he's got concrete hands, but the coach is letting him fail his teammates. What kind of confidence can he have left at this point?

id still take him as an NHL player on the roster. I wont ignore the little things he does well. but this is not a player that you can be paying 3 mil plus.

It was just nice to see someone other than Hornqvist have some idea what to do in front of the net.

That line has been buried in their own end all night. Not sure if Sully changed it or that was mid change to get Kahun out there for a shift.

Could be a case of Vats and Shero not seeing eye to eye on contract discussions. They’re not a playoff team and have other holes to address. This whole thing on keeping Taylor Hall was to sign talent around him to convince him they’re going to be the real deal. It hasn’t happened yet AND Vats hasn’t yet been part of that equation. I’m not saying they should trade him, but he hasn’t been extended obviously

I think they look to bring in a defender and a goalie as part of a Hall trade. They still have Subban, Butcher, and Severson on D with Palmieri, Gusev, Wood, a somewhat resurgent Zacha, Coleman, Hughes, Hischier, Bratt, Boqvist and it certainly looks like they’ll be in the lottery discussion this season. Might as well keep Hall to ensure they win the lottery and then trade his rights

My thoughts exactly. It wasn’t Edmonton’s luck. He was the key lol

Same can be said for Galch by burying him so deep in the lineup. I'm beginning to think Sully isn't a very good coach. He gets glaringly outcoached by Trotz every time they play the Isles. And how do you develop any chemistry by constantly changing the lines? I know injuries have had a lot to do with that this year, but this is a persistent habit for Sully. He definitely has his favorites and his dogs. Too bad Cole got on his bad side for reason, probably having to do with Sully's ego rather than his actual play.

That was a thing?

Obviously I never told the kids I coached but I drank 1-2 beers before games my last year of juniors and start of my freshmen year. I started getting anxiety and it helped a lot
