Same can be said for Galch by burying him so deep in the lineup. I'm beginning to think Sully isn't a very good coach. He gets glaringly outcoached by Trotz every time they play the Isles. And how do you develop any chemistry by constantly changing the lines? I know injuries have had a lot to do with that this year, but this is a persistent habit for Sully. He definitely has his favorites and his dogs. Too bad Cole got on his bad side for reason, probably having to do with Sully's ego rather than his actual play. - Hockey66
I think Sully is a good coach. They all have similar tendencies. Every coach (pick any sport) has their favorites and their dogs.

Obviously I never told the kids I coached but I drank 1-2 beers before games my last year of juniors and start of my freshmen year. I started getting anxiety and it helped a lot - WSCTeton17
Haha yeah dude listen to the Spittin Chiclets episode from Monday. They had Chelios on and Babcock benched him after his first shift during the outdoor game in Chicago so he had his sons passing him beers through the boards and then McRimmon or whoever their PK coach was tried to get him to go out with a few minutes left in the game and he said not a (frank)ing chance lol |

Yeah it's hard to look at the job Sully is doing this year and say he isn't a good coach. I don't always love his usage, but Galchenyuk isn't earning time over other players. Hasn't fit in yet, but nobody may benefit more from Crosby returning. |

If Sully keeps Simon in the top 6 then I can't make that statement. What coach in their right mind would put a guy who averages 8 goals per season in the top 6?? Even Hags has better hands and consistently scored in double-digits, averaging about 13.5 goals per game. Every game Simon is in the top six, Sully is kneecapping his team's chances. It needs to end now. |

Plus... The divergence in style the last couple of years was on Rutherford not Sullivan. The Pens have only been outplayed a few times this season IMO. |

Dude he’s got 13 points in 27 games lol thats a 39 point pace and I’m pretty sure all of them are at ES. That is top 6 if not top line ES production lol

How do you fit in on a new team by bouncing around lines constantly? He has played exactly 17 games and is over .5 points per game. So banish him to the 4th line and reduce his minutes? Has Simon earned top 6 over Galch? Galch has 7 years of consistent goal-scoring. Simon has 0. They are the same age. Galch has 128 goals, Simon has 14. |

In all seriousness, I would send Simon to the minors. Not because I think he is a plug plow horse running with thoroughbreds (which I do). But because he really needs to get some confidence. I think his confidence has really taken a hit tonight. |

Just about scrub can get a bunch of assists playing with Crosby and Malkin, so that's not convincing.
How many grade A chance has he completely blown? About 10+. 3-4 in this game alone. |

Take a look at most of Sids wingers not named Guentzel or Kunitz. Most of those guys hovered around 40-45 points. |

Its amazing how the complexion of the game changes when your goalie doesnt let in goal every 3 shots. |

I think he should be named the starter going forward. It's been over 3 years since Murray has been consistently good. |

Nah.... He just needs his role reduced. He's a good bottom 6 player. You can't send him down anyway.....somebody would claim him. He's exactly the type of bottom 6 wing you need. Makes like 700k and can play up the lineup if necessary. "If necessary" is the key. Even with this battered lineup, there's better players to try in that spot.
Jarry deserves to keep the net by the way. |

They actually have 10 forwards on a better points per game pace (no I'm not counting Noesen) which is just insane. 11 forwards hanging out around .5 pts per game or better. |
