Confidence is such a huge factor in sports. Confident players and confident teams play on their toes and their execution reflects that. Players and teams that lack confidence play on their heels and consequently their execution suffers. The Hawks don't look line a confident team. Their passes are a little off and that little bit makes all the difference . Then they rush plays which exacerbates the problem.

I'll just leave this here:

Alexis Lafreniere, a 6'1" 205lb LW who played on Dach's line for Canada's JR team last year - has 17 goals, 41 assists for 58 points in 27 games to lead all CHL scoring. Will the Hawks win the draft lottery? I don't know but stranger things have happened.

This is a bad team, what else can you say!
- GlennL

Look at all the players who have disappeared this year. Start over ,we won't like it but what else can you do. Boston went through it but turned it around in in quick time. Don't know the Hawks have the young players to do it though.

What is the catch phrase now?

"Despair for Lafreniere"? or other?

I'm not blaming Crawford for this loss but 5 goals in 20 shots is about right for the way Crawford played this game. For as good as he was in the shutout against Dallas - he wasn't close to being that good in this game. he was worse than average and the Hawks aren't good enough to win if their goalie has a game like this one.
- EbonyRaptor

I did not see the game till the last few minutes ,not pretty . I believe this team is not that bad and could still be in the playoff hunt . I also think they should rotate the goalies win lose or SO .I also think if the starter let in a couple stinkers he should be pulled quickly 2 goals at most . These two have to be spot on for this team to win no middle ground they have to be GREAT, and they have both shown they can be .So waste no time going to the next goalie .This team can score a lot . Goaltending is the be all in the NHL, great goaltending can take you a long way .. keep the hook close JC

Ian McCoshen has been recalled.

They are doing all they can to make Gus look better. Cause if McCoshen plays, Gus will look like a real NHL D-man.

It’s official. Boqvist is a bust and has no future on the team.

It's okay. The guy they called up has no future either. So better to have either him or Special K eating nachos in the pressbox than a guy we can develop for another team.

Rockford playing the Chicago Wolves so the game is on local Chicago TV (CH-50). Tuned it on at start of 2nd period and saw Fortin score on a rebound, D.Sikura score on a nice 2-on-1 pass from Kurashev and Hagel score on a breakaway to restore the 3 goal lead after the Wolves popped one in.

Hawks with a 1 in 3 shot at the playoffs, per Dom in ‘The Athletic’.

Chicago Blackhawks (34.0 percent)

No team has better goaltending than the Blackhawks and as long as that’s true this team has a shot. For the season the team is allowing 2.71 goals against per 60 (eighth in the league) off a horrific 3.43 expected goals against per 60 (30th in the league), meaning goalies are saving 0.72 which is far and away the best in the league. That probably doesn’t last, not to that degree. For the Blackhawks to make an honest shot this season, the defense needs to be tightened up considerably to make life much easier on the league’s best goaltending tandem. A rejuvenated power play wouldn’t hurt either as the team is fifth last this year after clicking at the third-best rate in the league over the second half last year.

Soderlund was a wrecking ball out on the ice against the Wolves. Noticeable every shift playing with speed and throwing his weight around. Very effective on the PK.

The kid is built solid and strong like an ox. Agitates the other team with his relentlessness and physicality.

With Highmore likely drawing back in, I'd like to see Soderlund stay in with Cramarossa sitting. He's been a non factor ever since his trade for Knott.

So which Blackhawks team will show up tonight? The good one that played decently against Dallas last week or the bad one that have been outplayed by Carolina, TB and Colorado? Ya never know with this team.

Lehner due to be in goal so if continues to play red hot the Hawks have a chance. Speaking of goalies, I thought Crawford let in a couple of soft ones. Chalk it up to a bad game. Both goalies have been carrying the team and keeping them in most games, but I fear they'll become burnt out sooner or later.

Keith didn't travel to Colorado for tonight's rematch. I assume Koekkoek will dress in his place tonight and in the near future if Keith remains out. Gus had a terrible game yesterday, but I also assume he'll play tonight since I doubt Collition will insert McCoshen in the lineup.

Someone not named Kane has to pick up their game, get hot, and provide some additional up front scoring.

The upcoming week feature games against the best in the West, STL with 38 points, and the best in the East, @BOS with 41 points.

Part of me agrees with you. But after hearing more of the story I give him credit for sacking up and not saying anything. First year pro who had a red flag or two from his junior days. Best chance to advance is to shut up and not help create more bullpoop. But it appears there was bullpoop and that's on the coach. It seems to me all Aliu did here was chuck a twitter dart at that coach and I don't blame him. At first I thought it was a player who couldn't get a another contract acting out but now it seems I was wrong. I think it's the media that stirred the pot, and after having done so players back up Aliu and it turns out Aliu is not the only one who experienced what I would call abuse. The Flames did not have a knee jerk reaction, seemed to do their due dilligence, and acted as I thought they should by firing the coach who had a bad history come to light.

It is a fact that I never saw anything that would suggest to me that Akim Aliu would ever stick in the NHL. He was horsepoop the times I saw him play. But it also doesn't matter. I'm not a fan of rap music. I'm also not a fan of classical music either. So if he was sent down because of his choice of music then that's just wrong. Peters was there to coach and help Aliu improve and he didn't do his job. So screw him.
