I'm not sure how anyone can defend or make excuses for this team or for that matter be optimistic.

This team is awful. To be on home ice and get rolled speaks to change is needed and not just a tinkering around the edges it's time for some major shakeups.

The only players who have been consistent are kane and lehner.

This team isn't going to make the playoffs and if they did by some miracle they will get rolled in the 1st round.

CF% - 63.8% and plus-19. SOG - 27-13. Heat chart shows lots in the home plate area, leading to:

SCF - 25-13. HDSC - 13-4.

Eye test - they are outplaying them 5x5.

Yeah - they can skate with this depleted Avs team.

The ‘All Situation’ numbers are the same. COL is shooting 5/14. 36% shooting percentage is more than triple the league average. League average is 9.11%. Some of this is on CC.

xGF is 2.4 - 0.96, in favor of the Blackhawks.

Coach is terrible would almost take anyone. The" Core" is finished, what's left ?

Yeah - let’s tank the last 55 games of the season.

Instead of possibly getting to the tournament and giving the young players - AdB, Strome, Dach, Nylander, Kubalik, Murphy, even Gustafsson, perhaps others coming up from Rockford - some playoff pressure experience.

Much better to have them continue to learn how to lose rather than learn how to win.

Hawks announcers are PR guys, they are rarely critical of any of these guys. They really go out of their way to protect Seabrook. Basically ignoring his foulups or explaining them away.

AGREED.....he just stated that Avs appear to be shooting high on CC ??? What has he been watching over the past several years !! Every team in the NHL knows to shoot upstairs on him because he's always on his knees and a weak glove hand.

Admittedly my old eyes are ... well ... old, but my eye test informs me the Avs are out-quicking the Hawks all game long and they are faster in front line skating as well.

I'm not blaming Crawford for this loss but 5 goals in 20 shots is about right for the way Crawford played this game. For as good as he was in the shutout against Dallas - he wasn't close to being that good in this game. he was worse than average and the Hawks aren't good enough to win if their goalie has a game like this one.

ya, you have a point and someone did say that Hawks were 3 and 0 with black unis and could be advantageous in the offensive zone if someone is hanging out in front of the net. But Crawford struggled today, not sure why. And he looked really sharp and engaged last game.
