Is the Cat invisible again?
- glennjpawlak22

And a very big reason why this team isn’t winning is his performance and Toews. DCat switched to a knee stick blade, curved from what I hear. He needs to go back. Toews I don’t have a clue what to say on him.

It is too bad that Bowman gave ADB that early extension. No one on this team deserves a raise.

I’ll rattle a lot of feathers here, I would like Mike Babcock to coach this team. Maybe the kick in the ass is just what some of these pre-Madonna’s need. And as far as Mark Crawford goes, I didn’t see anything out of line. Like none of us have ever heard that kind of language before in any competitive thing we did in our lives. I know all the hockey mommies and daddies totally disagree with me with their little Jimmy coming up through the ranks. They will stand there with their ear to the locker room door now, and if their little Jimmy is disrespected by the coach they will say you cannot talk to my little Jimmy that way. Well tell little Jimmy to take up figure skating or something else. Sickening what’s going on the last little while.
Definitely not showing any effort for this freaking kid. They have no respect for him. Then again look at the roster that genius has assembled. Half of these guys would not be playing on most NHL teams.
Terrible after these last couple of games is Colliton naïve ?Jeremy your team stinks, five or six of them are AHL players! He has to be feeling the heat. Or is he oblivious?

Babcock like peters isn’t going to get another NHL job.

As far as JC, this isn’t his system remember? The veterans wanted it their way, it’s their responsibility now.

I think it’s a lack of talent more so than effort.

No coach can be expected to win with this roster.

Our goalies are solid but the D core is awful and I’m starting to think our forwards aren’t nearly as good as many of us, including myself, thought they were.

Kane and Dach have high end skill. That’s it. And Dach isn’t nearly experienced enough yet to realize his true potential.

Bowman has put together a garbage roster that’s overall very slow and without much skill. Crippled by giant contracts to overpaid vets.

Bowman deserves the blame for this mess, not the coaching.

I just read The Breakaway a couple of weeks ago -and what struck me a bit, was the 'rationale' for sacking Savard and bringing in Q.

Spoiler alert - essentially it is basically cya territory - but it was something along the lines of 'not being fair to Savvy to send him out there to coach against guys with 5-600 games coaching (I took it to mean at the NHL level but could be wrong ) experience, so they seemed to have thought that they were doing Savard a favour or something.

Well, I mean I don't remember if that book was published prior to sacking Q or not, but it really sounds like the exact same scenario as what there is here.

Frankly what this team has needed is a fire hose blasting coldwater, and someone as hard-arsed as Mike Keenan. Unless they get that, they'll be going nowhere, and all of the marketing angles aren't going to save them ... seriously, they ought to have had a bobblehead dedicated to their November save percentage for all of the carry-on I was reading about it.

It only really goes so far, as long as it gets sustained. Oh well ... er, go team.

Fire McD (meddles with the team)
Fire Stan (Dale built the championship teams)
Fire JC (fresh out of high school)

Trade Toews (over paid 3C)
Trade Kane (bad for the brand)
Trade Keith (put him out to pasture)
Trade Saad (should have kept Panarin)
Trade DeBrincat (the team doesn’t need an enforcer)
Trade de Haan (6D at best)
Trade Maatta (cost too much, Kahun is better)
Trade Murphy (he’s not Hjalmarsson)
Trade Crawford (not elite)
Trade Nylander (should have kept Jokiharju)
Trade Strome (he can’t play without DeBrincat)
Trade Kubalik (poor effort, poor attitude)
Trade Kampf (JC’s pet)
Trade Dach (can’t skate, should have drafted Turcotte)
Trade Gustafsson (offers no value)
Trade Shaw (he was useless the first time around, he’s been worse since he returned)
Trade Lehner (overhyped)
Trade The Drake (always injured)
Trade Carpenter (who?)

Send Wedin to Rockford (he’s AHL talent)

Waive Koekkoek (nobody wants him)
Waive McCoshen (see above)

Buyout Smith (nobody wants him, should have kept AA)
Buyout Seabrook (locker room cancer with the NHL’s worst contract)

Agreed. And I also do not believe for one minute that Mike Babcock will not get another NHL head-coaching job. He may have some hard line tactics but sounds to me like there was no political incorrectness in any of his message or methods.
I don’t believe for one minute that had Bill Peters not said “the word”. None of this would be an issue. So now it is snowballing ,players getting talked to Rough ,kicked in the ass, and a couple other things that probably for the Last hundred years have been going on in all sports.Would love to be a fly on the wall and some of those NFL or NBA locker rooms, I would be willing to bet those coaches don’t hold back. It’s just that Gary Bettman has pussified this game to where now it’s taking the Me too route. Interview most of those players In any sports, and they will tell you, it made me play better it woke me up.

Yep. The Hawks won three Cups in this era. They've been trying to do what the Bruins succeeded at and retool on the fly. It hasn't had the same success level yet.

This means for most of the fanbase that anyone being paid big dollars for bringing those Cups to the franchise(50% of the Hawks total Cups on their history) need to be dragged through the mud and poop all over... Except Patrick "I only backcheck when it looks like we might get an odd-man rush" Kane.

- Hawks_49

Instead of looking to the Bruins as a model a better comparison is the Kings. Like the Kings, the Blackhawks are stuck with expensive players no longer good they can't get rid of to rebuild.

Nylander played so much better when he was skating with Smith and carpenter , just like saad was playing better with kampf.

Notice the trend here IMO it's toews who doesn't do anything to compliment these guys.

Great 6-1 can they just end the game now this is embarrassing

- Taylorst1

Nylander looked better then because he was playing against bottom 6 size skill and speed, He's not ready to play against top 6 yet.

You also don’t trade Panarin for Saad, or overpay Seabs, and Bickell to the point where it costs you Teravainen. Or give everyone under the sun a NMC.

And you said it yourself, we lack the skills to play the system. Our roster is lacking on skill/talent. That includes the forwards.

- SimpleJack

Bickell was/is sick you can't criticize what happened with Bickell.

The Hawks players spend more time on their azz than any other team. They are constantly getting knocked down. I don't recall seeing anyone get hit hard and knocked off his skates more than our prized rookie Dach. Maybe it would have been better if he had been sent back to Jrs. He has talent but he needs to get stronger on his skates to compete in the NHL. But it's not just Dach - too many other Hawks players get out-muscled and knocked out of the way like the opponents are swatting flies. It's pathetic.

And, as long as I'm on a rant - does anyone ice the puck more than Seabrook? The answer is no. Maybe all those icings shouldn't be laid solely at Seabrook's skates though because with only a few exceptions, the Hawks don't have players adept at getting their stick on a long pass. It's hilarious to watch the pass go whizzing past them as they're fumbling around trying to figure out how to position their stick so the puck hits it. The Hawks have to have the most uncoordinated bunch of players ever.

Very clear that it’s not working, whatever he did. In season, past the first five games or so, is not the time to continue trying / forcing new things you learned over the summer. Time to switch back, Kitty Cat.
