Nazis had a right to march in Charlottesville and to present their ideas - as they did in Skokie 50 years ago. The constitution guarantees it, and we are all freer because of it.
But there aren’t two sides to being in the right. There were not “good people on both sides” in Charlottesville - if you march with Nazis and Klansmen and other racists, you ARE as bad as they are.
If you defend their views as somehow being legitimate equal ideas....the right to be heard does not mean that what you heard is right.
Too many collaborators here today...enjoy the game tonite. - StLBravesFan
While I don't support their views , I do however support everyone's right to freedom of speech , this whole notion of defending them and their speech somehow makes people collaborators, is false and misleading and quite frankly dangerous to everyone's right to free speech.
If you don't agree with someone's view or speech argue your point to persuade them or walk away.
But please understand your history and facts and most of all know the constitution and what it means to everyone including those who you disagree with |

Tyler, dont know about anyone else but that 3rd pair scares me. Maybe flip 4K and DeHaan? - boilermaker100
That 3rd pair should not get more than 8 minutes of ice time, if that. Looking forward to see what Wedin brings tonight if he’s inserted in the lineup. I’d also like to see Kubalik back with Saad, whether Toews is in the middle or someone else. Let’s get two points tonight. Go Hawks! |

Hawks are only carrying 12 F so Wedin should play unless JC puts out the 11F and 7D lineup. If he does that it means 88 being double shifted in the thin air of Denver. JC wouldn't do that would he?
Wedin was one if the last cuts at camp. I also would like to see what he brings. |

Let's see how the Hawks rebound tonight.
I expect Wedin to play but not sure if McCoshem gets in the game. I think he was just called up as insurance and for Colliton to get a good look at the new guy up close.
If it's Koekkoek that goes tonight in Keith's place what does everyone think for the d pairings?
Maatta - Murphy
De Haan - Seabrook
Koekkoek - Gus
It's going to have to be a team effort back there to make up for #2's absence. - Tyler Cameron
I m thinking another loss and top 10 pick in upcoming draft. I m sorry but even with keith this team is not very good, average at best. |

I just saw the purported or maybe it is more realistic to say the alleged report that the NJ Devil's F Shero, the GM, is listening to offers for T Hall.
You may recall that Hall was vying with Sequin for the first overall pick in the 2010 draft. Which makes him.at age 28 a still young - perhaps mid career - yet battered warrior. He has not won anything nor have teams he played for been very good. Hall skates crazy good is tough and skilled. He may be capable of a few big scoring years . He does though have concussion and other sometimes long term injuries on his report card
Now that you who view plenty of NHL action can perhaps testify as to whether he is as tough and fast as ever. I doubt skill level is any less - certainly has learnef his craft be that as a veteran NHL (get ready I love using this word/I know wortht the cup blogger oves this term too) 'warrior".
I just do not know1) if he is really exactly vis -a -vis having the capacity still to be comparable to a mid career Mark Messier; and 2) if Shero has star players who have fallen off (C Schneider too),;he will not accept anything less than the moon. He has to take that approach. Some GM will not be able to resist. Probably.
M Bergevin is a prime candidate. Tell you why: His team needs a kick start and they can ride with best teams because they have C Price. It is a whole tangent to expound if they could improve their set of dmen but they do have Drouin as a trade chip. And at least two top center prospects. Suzuki is enjoying a fine rookie season. The other center had a one NHL game end of season last year; he recorded a hat trick. He recently returned from concussion (suffered pre season ?) & I guess he is playing his way into shape on the farm club
Ok due to length of post constraint I am posting a second post about the Blackhawks interest. Does Bowman explore a trade? |

Kreider is an unrestricted FA at end of year, we are a bubble team, we should not add to this team unless we get back young and controlled players, or young with term and low salary. However getting Kreider for Smith and Gus relieves $4.7M in cap space for 2020, and makes us better this year, but no way Rags make that trade, as they would get less talent back, as well as $3.5M in cap hit for 2020. |

Is there any doubt that the Hawks have the worst Dcore in the NHL?
I mean not that Keith is good anymore cuz he’s not, but just looking at it without seeing his name REALLY amplifies just how bad it is.
Maatta, de Haan, and Murphy are all offensively inept #4s. Average 2nd pairing defenseman at best...and those are our best defenseman. Keith also belongs in that same group. He’s asked to do way too much, he’s supposed to be our #1...but on any legit contender he’d be #4 at best. Completely washed up.
That’s it as far as legit NHL Dman go. The rest don’t belong in the league. Gus, Seabrook, and Koekkoek are all worthless garbage.
This might be literally one of the worst D cores in NHL history. No amount of goaltending or forward firepower can make up for it.
We aren’t making the playoffs. It’s past 20 games and I’ve seen all I need to see. We need to tank and draft as high as possible. Lose baby lose!!! Let’s go Avs!!!!! |

Hall being a former 1st round pick fits Stan's MO.
Hawks could use another top 6 forward. Hawks would want to sign him before the trade since he is an UFA and would have to shed a lot of salary next year. Hawks give up D prospect in return?
But don't see it happening. |

Can’t give up any of our D prospects. We’re gonna need them all in the coming years. And even then it still probably won’t be enough. I wouldn’t mind drafting another defenseman in the first round next summer. |

I agree with your point. Chicago has no cap space now or next year to add another high salary. Hall is 28 years old which is a huge risk age and contract wise when Chicago already has Keith, Seabrook, toews who are all washed up and under contract for 4 more years. Also giving up any high draft picks or prospects is ridiculous |

Elbows, your comment is not right. everyone is open to an opinion. Peters was wrong and Taylor said so. And Taylor did not seem to be out of line. Peters was old school, and probably an A$$ as a coach. But why does Aliu talk now? So is this his excuse for not succeeding in the nhl? Life is not easy for everyone and many curves (or roadblocks) are encountered along the way. Unless you are gifted or born rich, then there are different curves to navigate. - Topshelf2010
He’s talking now because he wants $$$$. Our society has been geared to auto-convict anyone, with or without evidence, that even hints at impropriety. Especially if it beats the drum of the new social justice warriors. They are the most two-faced of the lot. |

I have a different take on this . These young kids have been brain washed all throughout their adolescents by activists teachers and professors pushing a dangerous ideology that America is a racist country and dividing us along with shutting down free speech and threatening businesses, people who don't conform. This entire socialist justice charade is led by the biggest hypocrites who want to hear down our system .
People are called names or are offended constantly, this kid was a bust let's be clear about that . If what was said to him was so detrimental that it bothered this snowflake why didn't he speak up then ? He could have talked to his agent that's what they get paid for is to guide and represent these players.
This kid IMO is looking for his 15 minutes of fame since he is dead broke and has nothing of financial means at this point.
Just another Colin kampernick deadbeat loser.
Coaches good, great and mediocre have always throughout history have at one point or another spoke up harshly , if these kids can't take it , that's on them because life isn't easy.
Could the coach have chosen a better word to use sure after the fact looking back, but than again maybe this kid was blasting that ghetto Crap and that to a lot of people drives them nuts with all that constant swearing .
While I'm not excusing the coach , I still IMO believe this kid was looking for attention because he clearly wasn't good enough to make it in the nhl , because if he was he would have been playing . - Taylorst1

Well said......... The guy who calls the guy a negro, kicks people deserves a say and those who deny him that are socialists afraid of discourse for not allowing even a nazi voice to the table of ideas/explanations. We also need to, as you point out, need to look at the person(s) making such claims. Indeed, investigate the investigators. The deep state of the hockey world needs a light shone on it and their movement. - Mr Ricochet
Nothing demonstrates ignorance and and intellectual laziness as calling someone racist.
Can not engage in the arena of ideas without throwing out Nazi and Racist....and going all PMSNBC on everyone.
You know nothing about me and many others and the racial make up of ourselves and our families, but somehow you are reassured.
You are a mental midget. You are embarrassing yourself. In all that has been thrown around, NOONE has stood up for Peters.

That really is what sticks out watching game after game. When we celebrate Dehaan as a big deal, we are in trouble. God bless them all and their effort.
Seabrook is at the top of the circle when opponents enter the blue line. Seldom do we win puck races/battles.
Watch Carolina's defense, or Dallas, St. Louis, Colorado, there are more than 2 guys in each group that can chase down a puck and skate it out.
I still hope for the playoffs....

So you say that Keith, Maatt, de Haan and Murphy are 2nd pair at best. Let's say that is so. Seabs to me is 3rd pair and I agree that Gus and KK can go. Granted no true #1's. But the worst D Corp in the league. Without doing the research there are probably some bottom dwellers without true #1's and without 4 2nd pair types.

Well said. The defense gets burned way to many times and watching Chicago try and breakout is like the blind leading the blind. Especially when you watch other teams quick passes and breakout as a unit.
