. I hope Akim Aliu is held accountable for every thing he ever said and 10 years down the road is held accountable. Lol. Gimme a break. - just69sayin
What we SHOULD be hoping is that no other young player - or young person of any kind - has to go through what Aliu went through - either through the hazing incident, or the locker room abuse put on him by Peters. |

Part of me agrees with you. But after hearing more of the story I give him credit for sacking up and not saying anything. First year pro who had a red flag or two from his junior days. Best chance to advance is to shut up and not help create more bullpoop. But it appears there was bullpoop and that's on the coach. It seems to me all Aliu did here was chuck a twitter dart at that coach and I don't blame him. At first I thought it was a player who couldn't get a another contract acting out but now it seems I was wrong. I think it's the media that stirred the pot, and after having done so players back up Aliu and it turns out Aliu is not the only one who experienced what I would call abuse. The Flames did not have a knee jerk reaction, seemed to do their due dilligence, and acted as I thought they should by firing the coach who had a bad history come to light.
It is a fact that I never saw anything that would suggest to me that Akim Aliu would ever stick in the NHL. He was horsepoop the times I saw him play. But it also doesn't matter. I'm not a fan of rap music. I'm also not a fan of classical music either. So if he was sent down because of his choice of music then that's just wrong. Peters was there to coach and help Aliu improve and he didn't do his job. So screw him.
Yes, the sports media does have a way of flaming the fire under the guise of "fans are talking about this". Really??? Do they talk to each and every fan out there and surmise that? The sports media has access to get their story out to the masses via websites or whatever the medium may be. They frame the story. Take Schaefer, from ESPN, for instance. Three years after playing his last game, Kaepernick is constantly brought up by Schaefer. Does anyone really care about that story anymore? I don't. Why does he keep bringing it back to life? |

Kid had no leverage then, now he did. Peters no relation got what he deserved. |

Sorry, but if Hawks really want to win and make the playoffs this year, Boqvist is the proper call up. Or Gilbert at the very least. Not McCoshen. I don't care about burning a year on his deal, if you are good enough to play, you should be on the NHL team. This reeks of what the Cubs did with Bryant and what the Sox will likely do with Robert and Madrigal this season. Hoping the Sox sign them both before the season like they did with Jimenez. Instead we get force fed Seabs, Gus and Koekkoek. |

Wouldn't mind Boqvist being called up, but only if he plays and doesn't sit as the 7D.
Ideal situation would be to play him and sit Gus. But that means Koekkoek plays too as Keith's replacement so maybe not so ideal after all.

I read on Twitter that the Devils ate entertaining offers on Hall.
Come on Stan, wake up! The Hawks need to make the playoffs this season.
DeBrincat, Boqvist and a 1st for Hall. |

I have a different take on this . These young kids have been brain washed all throughout their adolescents by activists teachers and professors pushing a dangerous ideology that America is a racist country and dividing us along with shutting down free speech and threatening businesses, people who don't conform. This entire socialist justice charade is led by the biggest hypocrites who want to hear down our system .
People are called names or are offended constantly, this kid was a bust let's be clear about that . If what was said to him was so detrimental that it bothered this snowflake why didn't he speak up then ? He could have talked to his agent that's what they get paid for is to guide and represent these players.
This kid IMO is looking for his 15 minutes of fame since he is dead broke and has nothing of financial means at this point.
Just another Colin kampernick deadbeat loser.
Coaches good, great and mediocre have always throughout history have at one point or another spoke up harshly , if these kids can't take it , that's on them because life isn't easy.
Could the coach have chosen a better word to use sure after the fact looking back, but than again maybe this kid was blasting that ghetto Crap and that to a lot of people drives them nuts with all that constant swearing .
While I'm not excusing the coach , I still IMO believe this kid was looking for attention because he clearly wasn't good enough to make it in the nhl , because if he was he would have been playing .

So you were there and have documented proof of hazing and abuse? You know that no other player(S) experience similar abuse of all persuasions?
I may have missed it here or in the news.
Ultimately what we all should be hoping for is a world free of feigned outrage and virtue signaling BS. A world free of guilt by accusation. |

Well said, Kapernick showed his true colors last month when he was doing his tryout and when he could not control the narrative, changed everything at the last minute. God Bless Steven A Smith for calling it out. Kapernick is a moron and a perpetual victim.
Sadly we live in a world where if you disagree with someone, they perceive it as hate or racism. Talk about a sad state of affairs. A bunch of soft fragile frankies out there. Worse yet is the WOKe dopes tripping over themselves to feign outrage.
Anthony Jeselnick says it best when speaking about those who rush to show support and caring via social media. All they are really saying is hey...don't forget about me today...
Meanwhile, time passes and so many talented people of all persuasions mind (frank) themselves from even trying to fulfill their potential.
If Peters is an ass...he will get his... The best revenge for Aliu could have been walking up to Peters a happy and successful man, looked him in the eye and let him know, no matter how much of an ass the guy was, he was not going to stop me from being successful, then tell him to (frank) off man to man.

Elbows, your comment is not right. everyone is open to an opinion. Peters was wrong and Taylor said so. And Taylor did not seem to be out of line. Peters was old school, and probably an A$$ as a coach. But why does Aliu talk now? So is this his excuse for not succeeding in the nhl? Life is not easy for everyone and many curves (or roadblocks) are encountered along the way. Unless you are gifted or born rich, then there are different curves to navigate. |

No, what it means is that it likely was not isolated, as it is being presented.
I know to former pro athletes in 2 different sports that have similar stories about coaches black balling them for stupid crap.
From what I see, and I do not condone or believe it smart, but Peters used N word as an adjective to music and he did NOT address Aliu with N word?
Again, I would never do either, but the inference from Aliu is that he was on his way to being an NHL All star when it came off the rails?

What Aliu was as a player is totally irrelevant. Yet, you and others bring it up as some sort of justification for Peters actions.
If you can't grasp that using that word in any context to a person who, you know, has been called that word is wrong, I don't know what to tell you.

Don't worry, you get credit for running to the front of the line to show your outrage some 10 years after the event.
How many other people have come forward with music complaints from Peters...or any racial complaint over the past 10 years?
People of all walks of life say stupid poop every day. Most realize and own up to it, apologize and learn. Others...well smart people just come to know them as idiots and do not really associate with them much after. That used to be enough.
Now we are only left to wonder how many lives this man destroyed by rudely characterizing someones music? Does anyone really need to hear someone of authority say that Peters was an idiot for saying what he said? Don't we all pretty much know it?
How many ice hogs have come out in support or have added to or amplified Aliu's claims?

Wrong with so many caveats that it renders saying it meaningless. The fact is even brought Kaepernick into the comment was just showing his true colors. Not to mention calling Aliu a snowflake. But whatever. I stand by my comment.

At least 2 and both Brindamour and Jeff Skinner have made comments in support of Aliu's position.
Keep bringing up a narrative that is total gaslighting. |

No we are not, read Aliu's tweet, he brings up what he was as a player and how his trajectory changed.
Clearly there is no justification, I have pointed it out. Nice try. |

The Jews will not replace us. "There are good on both sides" "Just grab their vagina, I do it all the time". Just boys being boys with their locker room talk......... How could anyone misconstrue that there are two sides to a story, that everyone deserves a voice at the table of ideas and that equals "fair and balanced"?

If I could recommend a wonderful fantastic book for the tree huggin lib and the "fair and balanced" teabaggin confederate and their sympathizers. Answered most every question I've ever had about the confederecy that 100 books didn't and gave the confederate a platform to tell you why he sees the world the way he does.
