That’s understandable. Manning is offensive. |

AV needs to swap JVR with Laughton.
JVR needs more skilled players to compliment his limited goal scoring tool box.
Have said all year Raffl laughton and Pitlick solid 4th line.
Coach messing up here bigtime
I guess he is trying to make a point w JVR and Ghost. |

This is where having Patrick out hurts. With all healthy we had better depth. Obviously. Hate head issue injuries. Pronger Lapps great 88...., |

There’s several additional factors here to consider:
JVR is not currently finishing even though he has had ample PP time.
Hayes is also struggling and plays better with Laughton.
I think they said Laughton isn’t taking faceoffs.
Farabee also trying to get back to his play.

Bill if ghost was moved what is a reasonable/expected return right now. - daryl stanley
If you were a GM would you be giving up much for him right now?
B level prospect and a 2nd. I'd rather hang onto him and hope he turns it around. You can still move him when he's re-built some value. |

I would trade Ghost for a young NHL ready forward if possible.
I think JVR is untradeable. - MBFlyerfan
The same JVR that quietly pots 30 goals year after year? He's struggling to score this year, sure. But so is just about the entire team. He could certainly generate some interest. |

In a vacuum sure. But in a cap world where most teams don’t have 7 million in cap space it kind of changes the dynamic don’t you think?
Most teams can’t take him on for just prospects, and most have to send back comparable salary. So it’s not like teams will be offering up their good players to get our not so good player.

thing is all GMS value players differently. too many variables in play. I still think he has value and wont have to take a crap deal to move him. Maybe i am wrong. Either way the next 5 games he plays as a flyer will be very vital for him. Assuming he is around to play in 5 more....
if he rebuilds his value like many have said, then dont you hold onto him at that point? or do you for lack of a better word sell high? |

If JVR had less term, he might be easier to move. I think it would be difficult to move him and get a good return. I think it might be trading your problem for theirs. That can work out sometimes. |

Well there's the difference. You said he's unmovable. Now it's unless there's money coming back. Obviously we'd likely have to take a contract back in the deal. It's certainly a possibility. It's also possible we work out a deal with Seattle to take him during the expansion draft.
And while I know he's down I just can't call a guy with his stats over the last 5 years a not so good player. We managed to trade Vinny. You can't tell me JVR is unmovable. |

Am I wrong or doesn't he only have three years left after this year? If he had five I'd be a lot more concerned. |

With a roster built like this one, nobody should be happy with 2-1 wins or 2-1 losses. |

Weren’t you the one saying Columbus wasn’t bad this year and to not sleep on them, now you’re saying they’re a bad team and the flyers should blow them out? |

With the recent history of this franchise I'll be happy with any win they can get. |

Man, I can believe Columbus did not bury that in the open net. Very lucky for us. |
