Here we go, Rick. We get a look at Dach between Kane and Dcat! Would love to read your thoughts on the kid after the game............. Damn fun fast game. Lotta entertainment value in this Hawks squad this yr. Two points in regulation would be wonderful.
Is it me or does Zach Smith seem faster today than he's been as a Hawk? - Mr Ricochet
Big jump up for the kid to play between Kane and ADB. Thought he handled it pretty well, no real mistakes in his own end.
To use a basketball term I like the kid because he has length like Getzlaf and Lemieux. When he learns to use it properly he will be this team's #1 Center for a long time. Just keep in mind he is only 18, hope he can stay healthy.

3 of 8 possible points against Canes, TBL, Stars, Stars - certainly could have been worse.
Yeah - tough quad coming up. - StLBravesFan
I just hope they don't go on a losing streak like they did last year, i believe it was right around the 25 game mark, 8 or 9 in a row? |
|
|
|
That was a good game, anybody notice Seabrook clearing the front of the net all night long, I did, and he was not alone. - Angotti
Not only did he clear out the forward he cleared out Toews at the same time at one point of the game. |
|
|
|
LIked the distribution of D men time.
DeHaan 22 min
Keith 21
Murphy 20
Gus 19
Maatta 18
Seabs 18
Hawks may not have a true top pair in the mold of 2 and 7 of yesteryear, but tonight they put out 3 serviceable pairs.Hope they are finally gelling. |
|
|
|
I just hope they keep working on exiting their own zone in practice, easier against the Stars since dmen don't pressure the forwards like the Canes did.
Penalty kill still looking very good.
I don't like Toews on the PP but at least they scored today.
Really disappointed JC didn't dress 7 dmen tonight, WTF

I think the hot goalie tandem will keep them in most games and prevent a long losing streak.

That was a beautiful pass from Gusto to Saad and stone hands got a nice shot off. |

The good news is in the last 10 games we've at worst been within 1 goal in the 3rd period of tying it up. |

What little I saw of Highmore, I really liked. Nice to have a little speed out there for a change. Wish he would have been allowed to play in the previous game. |

Good win tonight .Dach played a very respectable game .Of course Dallas played last night ,or the boy's would not have stood a chance . 3 of 4 points against red hot Dallas. HAWKS are playing all right now .Toews and Seebs had good games .Crow will not give up that net without a fight . Really did not understand all the angst after the game Saturday, HAWKS played a very good game .As Lehner said SO are not hockey ,now if we could just get Buttman and his Hench man to understand this .. |

And, just as importantly, a lightning-quick shot. Really set the tone for what happened tonite. Kudos to him for a clutch goal. |

2 young rookies playing the center position in a badly needed win against a very good, experienced Dallas team. That's should be very encouraging to the Hawks brass. |

How can anyone not love these two netminders? It is a treat beyond compare, watching them ply their trade.

You're right. The future does offer up some hope, for a change. They'll only get better with the passage of time. |

Dach was the only rookie playing center tonight. Carpenter was in the middle of the 4th line with Highmore playing wing. Carpenter/Toews were replacing Dach for FOs in the 3rd on D-zone draws. |

AdB had a nice game - a couple of dangerous shots on Khudobin, he looked more focused on getting to the slot for his good wrister. Good backchecking and play below the goal line, as he has concentrated on more this season. |

Makes a big difference when the Dmen box out properly and limit 2nd and 3rd chances. And that's reflected in the reduced SOG babes. - RickJ
100% Rick.
That was a very noticable last night. They need to keep that up. |

Re-match against Bruins after the bugger Highmore got under March and"s skin!
Anyone who missed the Bruins vs our AHL.lineeup - it was played just after the team had left for the oversea opeming games. Bruins top three forwards off to a huge scoring start this season. Bergeron may be out injured
And Keith is always aware when he plays against Coyle
.
Coyle basicly roped and tied him then dragged him around in a total beat down a few years ago. |
