I had no idea what you meant by this, just looked it up now. Wow.
Honestly could be a blessing in disguise for BT, he can use this as an opportunity to fire Peters for simply just being a bad guy instead of a failure as a coaching hire.
Basically he could avoid the usual rule of thumb that a GM is on the hot seat as soon an as he fires the coach that he hired. |

Yeah, maybe, but I remember more than a few critics of the Peters hiring saying basically he was Babcock light, and not in a good way. |

Use up all the old veggies in the fridge fried rice.
You know when you see it in the pan and have to ask what is it it’s not going to be a great meal. |

I'm up to page 5 of the posts and I see the second period has ended, I have just finished watching the game myself and I have to wonder why is Eriksson being singled out for poor play?
If I had to pick the worst player for the Canucks after 2 it would be Boeser, and after 3 definitely Boeser.
I am disappointed that the team is so reactive to the play, really pissed that there isn't a slight presence of physical play, be proactive for goodness sake. Being reactive they are flatfooted, swinging sticks, not engaged, can't put two (frank)ing passes together.
Man I hate this coaching staff, I don't give a poop what anyone says, this team is coached for mediocre play, not to engage physically, and be perimeter players.
I don't give a poop they lost, it's the way they lost.
Demko was outstanding, the team was poop. |

I didn't think so, he was just as bad as the rest of the team. Skating fast means SFA. |

Lots of signs that tell us this is not a PO team quite yet. We walk into WAS and take the best team in the league to a SO (didn't actually beat them lol) then lay an egg vs a very beatable Philly club. I get the 'can't play the same way every night' routine...but man show some level of consistency and get points out of poopty games like last night that will help us down the road. Miller and Demko show up? Really?
And it's not all on the coach but it is a factor to be sure.

Boeser gets a free ride in here, because of his politeness and superior Hockey IQ.
I missed the game, but of the 20+ games I have seen, I would say Boeser had 2 really good games, a handle of not bad games and the rest he has been a floater.
It is sad when this team misses Roussel, Beagle, Motte and Sutter. |

I didn’t get to watch, but this is pretty much what Walker/Shaw had to say on the post game, “they mailed it in”.
I disagree about Green “coaching to be passive”. I’m not saying he’s a good coach. I’ve never met him, I have no idea how good of a motivator he is, if his “systems” are better or worse than other coaches. I still put this at the feet of Jim Benning. He brought in the grit to shelter the young stars instead of the stars sheltering the (play) of the bottom of the roster guys. I’m sure Green wants every player to be active, to be aggressive, but smart with positioning and reading the play. “Tough to play against” is his motto...
Anyway, hopefully they sort their poop out sooner than later. I don’t want a new GM coming in and starting over. |

The team is coached to not physically engage and to play on the perimeter? Genius Makita. I’m sure that’s exactly what green wants 🤦🏻♂️ . He doesn’t have the personnel to engage physically. Blame benning for that. Doesn’t help that we are missing the majority of our physical players. Benning specifically brought in Roussel, Ferland and Miller because they can play physical and actually win board battles. Sadly 2/3 aren’t playing. Even when healthy they aren’t enough |

Yeah I think there are valid criticisms of the coaching staff, but the degree of blame seems excessive. Lines, deployment, ice time, discipline, etc are all within the wheelhouse of coaching, but in my view if an NHL player cannot show up for a game and make good decisions on the ice, that's on him.
When Boeser is behind only MacEwen, Stecher, and Myers for hits in a game, a lot of players should be looking hard in the mirror this morning |

Miller is the only player that consistently shows up. Elias has sucked many games this year. It’s fine and dandy to complain about the coaching staffs deployment etc. But when I hear comments like he doesn’t like his players to engage I puke bath salts all over my keyboard. Get real folks. The reason Benning brought in the players he did in the summer is because green has constantly complained about how soft the group is. Apparently it’s hard to turnover the country club because no matter what they do, the Canucks are a buttery soft club |

Agreed. If Pettersson can have a few pissed off games where even he's engaged enough to throw some hits, then there are no excuses for anyone else in the locker room. Green can scream at guys all game long to hit people, but on the ice that's for the likes of Schaller/Benn/Virtanen to see the situation themselves and do it |
