The three goals from Nikolay Foldobin today were great, but it is his play away from the puck that has impressed me most about his game recently. He had another strong one today, forcing several turnovers in his team’s favour. Is he starting to “get it”?

I am glad Hergott said this. His AHL numbers have bumped up a bit but his pay away from the puck is more committed .

When he plays hungry you can see the talent.

Needs to do it vs much better talent on a much more regular basis is/has always been the problem.

Sven was killing it in Utica, and we've seen how he's been since he's been up. Can't put too much stock in Goldy's AHL tenure.

I guess you are on the side that he hasn't learned anything. That is fair.

There is a skill though. I would not be opposed to giving him one more look with top line players.

Hey there,

New blog is now up. Really impressive win on Saturday — disciplined despite being shorthanded, against one of the best teams in the league.

I agree about you can't put too much stock in it and I don't agree about Sven killing it . He had 2 goals and was getting assists from playing with Boucher ( who had a terrific start) and Goldy.

I thought Svens numbers were inflated I don't feel that with Foldy

lol that's true actually.

I like Petey and Hughes game they are game changers for sure. Bowser and Bo are too inconsistent IMO (at this time)

Benn is helping and Myers has basically disappeared (as he did in WPG) at times.

Edler-Tanev don't make us better/worse.

Still lots to work on but I do hope they contend for the WC spot I just don't expect it over the long haul of the season.

If we win 5 more games in regulation and pick out of the top 10 I will take it as a sign of heading in the right direction...which I believe we are.

Wishing for the team to win/lose to prove points there will always be those types of posters. We may as well have some fun with it and enjoy the journey.

Canucks missed the playoffs by 5 wins last season.

true however 5 more regulation wins this year would be 91 points not enough for this years PO's projected at 96 points to get in.

Maybe. Projections were wrong last season. So they would need 5 more points to get in if so... and how does a 91 point season get you a top 10 pick this season then?

91 points and a top 10 pick.... interesting.
