Marwood is renting space in your head
It is a one year history
2017 -18 we were .500 in October and 6-7-2 in November - VANTEL
lol the only headspace Marwood rents is the top level of the woodpile
Just look at it realistically...sure we are a better club this year as most predicted but two B2B regulation wins does not translate to PO's. Last week you were ok with no playoffs but this week they are in because of 2 back to back regulation wins?
We were 8-6-0 in October last year we always seem to start good and ended up at 11-14-3 by the end of November. 19-19-4 by the end of December. Now yes this is a better team but let's give it some time be we all expect playoffs in November lol |

He coached in both Dallas and Phoenix for long periods with good success despite less than fantastic lineups. Guys a great coach! - Pacificgem
Why was he out of work so long? |

1. Is this team much different from last year’s?
Van after 24 games last year: 10-12-2 24 points 73 GF 88 GA
Van after 24 games this year: 12-8-4 28 points 78 GF 69 GA

Number 4 is for Nucker. - manvanfan
We a are improving for sure...I just don't think it translates to playoffs just yet (hope I'm wrong).
Need to see where we are with a full healthy club (Sutter Roussell Ferland Motte) but I don't think we'l ever be fully healthy in today's NHL. We do have better depth to get through injuries but a few key ingredients are still missing to get us over the hump IMO. |

Why was he out of work so long? - Bettmanhatesus
Because he wanted to see if he still had a passion for coaching after 15 straight years behind the bench as an NHL head coach. According to him. That was his choice. |

If you don’t like winning, sure - Pacificgem
Last season it was Hutton and I've forgotten who else. This season it's Hughes and Benn. Edler isn't a loss anymore. He's less trips to the penalty box and less giveaways. As he's second only behind Hughes in give always but who actually does things with the puck. |

I don't remember saying I was okay with no playoffs last week, you will need to show me that post. For the record though if we don't make the playoffs it is not the end of the world, but I do expect we will be there.
I don't make excuses for wins and I don't make excuses for losses. All white noise what I hear on here or Twitter.
We lost 12 of 13 last November , that can no longer happen. |

People always always ignore the fact he matches up against the other teams best on a nightly basis. There’s more to the game than handling the puck. He’s our best all-around defenceman still. They play him too much though, less would be more in his case, at least in my opinion. |

People ignore the fact that just because our idiot coach lets him, doesn't mean he's worthy of it and won't get shelled most nights.
No different that when Sutter played against other teams top lines.
Defence is a team game not individual. Vancouver doesn't have a partner for him except for Tanev who plays with Hughes. Just too bad Hughes is little and soft. |

I like the Edler / Myers pairing, I just wish Green would bump up Benn and Stechers minutes while reducing Edler and Myers. |

Do you think this team has hit stride this season? Consistently? Do you think it will happen? |

Nope . I don't think we have seen the best from Horvat Boeser Petey yet. Even Petey said he doesn't feel he is playing his best yet. |

I hated Edler Myers pairing since day 1. I will never like a top pairing that share the same qualities. |

I'm still waiting for the bottom 6 to start streaking but if they do something good, Green benches them for the rest of the game. |

I think team whiner / team pompom is fuken ridiculous. I think hoping your team lose just to say you are right is dumb dumb dumb.
You are saying they will falter a little and I say they will maintain. No labels required , and neither is out of reach.
Like I said I don't buy into this B2B bullpoop because we are not the only team in the league collecting B2B points. We may be the only team though apologizing for collecting them. |

I think we will see flashes of consistency. Petey is finally consistent on pace for 100 pts but I don't think Boeser Hughes and Bo are there just yet consistent-wise. Boeser needs work defensively 5/5 as does Hughes. Bo is logging (and will continue) to log big minutes which will help and hurt his game. Bo is streaky I don't think we will see a super high level of consistency with Bo as we will with Hughes-Petey.
Our D is much better however. I know I knock Edler Tanev but we do have a decent top 4 now. Just not a top 4 that will propel us to the next level other than Hughes. |

lol that's true actually.
I like Petey and Hughes game they are game changers for sure. Bowser and Bo are too inconsistent IMO (at this time)
Benn is helping and Myers has basically disappeared (as he did in WPG) at times.
Edler-Tanev don't make us better/worse.
Still lots to work on but I do hope they contend for the WC spot I just don't expect it over the long haul of the season.
If we win 5 more games in regulation and pick out of the top 10 I will take it as a sign of heading in the right direction...which I believe we are.
Wishing for the team to win/lose to prove points there will always be those types of posters. We may as well have some fun with it and enjoy the journey.
