Regular season-tie. Playoff play real hockey until it’s over. Get rid of the loser point andvthe 3 on 3 circus. - Grinder47
I'd go, regulation 2 points, directly to a shootout where winner gets 1 point loser no point |

If NJD isn’t going to be competitive I would 100% be interested in Vatanen. Marino looks great but so did Maatta his rookie season. Fingers crossed he keeps it up but I’d love more stability

They need to sign someone regardless of how they feel about Marino because nobody looks ready to step into the top 6. Maybe they can go bargain hunting though instead of paying top dollar for a guy like Schultz. |

This is what I'm worried about, at least for this year. It's a tough jump from 40+ games played from college to a hopefully long playoff run in the NHL. He could wear down though that's not a bad sign for his career. - Tojo.
Yea but Marino won't have to play top minutes the whole year(hopefully) if Tanger/Schultz stays healthy he should be comfortable in that third pair. |

It’s not just the minutes; it’s also the number of games. It’s something all rookies deal with. We have to expect a little regression. |

On a side note, I’d give Jarry conservative starts. Rest Murray a little more for Vancouver. |

Definitely. I’d think that they would want to play Jarry a bit more and try to figure out if he can be a #1 goalie in the league. If he continues to play at this level, it’ll be pretty interesting what they do next season before the expansion. Unless they tell Seattle, “here’s a 2nd round pick, don’t take Jarry” |

It would be nice if they can sign Murray without a NTC just to keep their options open. Other than that, super early to worry about expansion. Nice that Marino will be exempt. |

I like that idea
NHL loves the current system because it keeps mediocre teams around, but it would are for much better hockey if teams were going for the win instead of protecting a point |

Right and I don't think Marino played top 4 on his college team. They had Adam Fox and another kid who was a 2nd/3rd round pick on the right side. |

I mean, he didn’t even score in college, so clearly he won’t be good in the NHL. |

If I were the Pens I’d be attempting a trade for a center right now. As excited as I was for them to beat the Devils, it was the Devils.
And you all know who I’d want to move to get said center. |

Good example of why that shouldn't be the end-all stat for if guys can play in the NHL. Sometimes you get an outlier like Marino was just on a stacked team but obviously has enough skill.
Then there are all the guys who feast on PP time they aren't good enough to get in the NHL and don't offer enough otherwise. I love data, but you have to look beyond it and look at the situation. |
