Claude Loiselle was so triggered on leafs lunch today
He’s been saying there is zero chance Babs will get fired. He couldn’t handle being wrong.
Was going on about it Arizona tied the game up it would of been a different game no (frank)ing poop. That’s every game.
The proceeded to get mad that Engvalls first name is Pierre because he should be French Canadian not Swedish because he scored the goal to make it 2-0 instead of 1-1 Arizona on the PP. |

Dave Poulin?
but yeah..I heard he said the day before that 100% babcock finishes the season.
And a followup reply saying that this was the closest he has been to being right

Sorry wrong bad leafs AGM but yes
He was triggered though for sure. I didn’t listen to it after the Pierre comments it was too cringy. |

But the yotes didn't score so (frank) it. Lots of teams get good bounces and some puck luck.

It's such a bizarre set of statements.
Is our goalie not supposed to make saves? Do other teams not flub passes?
"If everything had gone perfectly for Arizona, they could have had 2 goals".
It's not like Keumper didn't make some great saves himself. |

I'll be fair that it's a show and they need something to discuss about last night's game. They need to make poop up for storylines so I have to be somewhat nice for some people. |

Gotta wonder...I have no idea and it’s pure speculation.
But with the first game without Babs and Barrie is put on the first PP with Rielly...2 D...did Mcfflaran want this all along? Was Babs the guy not letting him do this? Sure sounds like a stubborn Babs thing to do.
Either way I’m happy to see a big change in the PP after a calendar year of failure and not trying anything new other than switching Marner and Matthews. - Santo_44
How do you know Barrie was put on the 1st power play? |

Barrie talked about it himself.
And they put him on the unit in practice. |

He’s just triggered because he’s one of the only media people who said Babcock would not get canned this season for sure.

Nylander had a pretty incredible tip in the last min in the first that Keynote was lucky to save...would of been 2-0 leafs. |

Oh well. He was wrong.
A lot of people thought he had this whole season. I don't think the losing streak did him in. I think it was the non-adjustments he made while in a losing streak that did him in. |

My take (fwiw) is that they were too busy thinking about exactly (and I mean *exactly*) what Mike wanted them to do that by the time they'd made the decision it was already too late. They looked like they always had a hamster wheel turning, but also simultaneously terrified to piss off the boss.
You're right though - now they own it, and it's on them. If they blow it this time, there's no heat shield to stop the criticism. - lumlums
We'll never know for sure, but I think it is a convenient narrative for the players to claim they were thinking too much because the systems were too complicated. In fact, I haven't read where a player actually said that, but I have heard it.
I think it far more likely that they were 1) Sick of him 2) didn't agree with him 3) pissed off at stuff like ice time and that basically meant they were mentally checked out.
Babcock had to go. There is no question. This is not all on him though.
I think what I find annoying is that my biggest concern is that some people on this team need to be professionals and grow up. Some of the quotes that are thinly-veiled shots at Babcock, like 2 days after the guy was fired, are classless, unprofessional and immature. |

Babcock lost the room. The players clearly weren't playing together/ doing what they were told this season.
They looked good watching them live for the most part. Tavares line was meh (hyman is crap and needs 2 stars to carry him).
Leafs should get a boost for the next 15-20 games. The true test will be if they can keep it up in the back half of the season as teams start to make adjustments to them.
They still need to play more aggressively and force the other team to take penalties. The lack of PP's was mostly due to the leafs not being aggressive, not the refs. - Tumbleweed
Agreed
Hyman is still coming back from a long layoff. He will always be a guy who needs talent around him.
Once the honeymoon is over (let's hope it lasts a while) then they'll need to come to finally understad that working hard isn't something they can do once in a while.
Hopefully, that is offset by the return of Marner and Moore, and Tavares and Hyman get back up to full speed.
Andersen getting back into form would help. |

Quit wondering.
If it was your team, you wouldn’t give two franking poops. - Atomic Wedgie
Depends
1) Did they cancel the parade?
2) Did they put an asterisk in the record books?
3) Did they take the names off the trophy?
... I forgot immediately that Golden State had key injuries. |

Just a guess, but I wonder if it was just the body language and effort of the players, and did they maybe talk to a few key guys in the room and find out that the whole atmosphere was just real bad... you know it was.

Still significantly out of a playoff spot, so no.
