It's the new guys fault that the pp that's struggled for a while now (before him) continued to struggle while not changing.
Bring in a pp specialist, make him a shutdown guy. Wonder where it went wrong. - burn
I also really wanna see what Marincin can do. He always looked so confident playing in the A, so maybe we can see whether that was due to coaching or whether he just can't quite hang at this level. At the very least, all he has to do is be better than Ceci |

Play Ceci under 5 mins (ideally 0 ) and the rest as much as needed - lumlums
can't remember he was this bad with the Sens |

still, needing ~34-18-6 seems to be a tall order... - 21peter
is that true? Is that what TOR needs to get in (approx.)?
...maybe I should take that bet. haha |

They haven't lost a game under Keefe so I'm betting on 58-0-0 |

Eh they are very close to a playoff spot right now. They are better easily than the teams fighting for that spot |

I get it's one game but this team has a ton of talent that simply wasn't used right. Leafs are the Blues of last year. - RogerRoeper
Unfortunately i don't think the Leafs are gonna make the playoffs. They'll struggle to be the Blues. |

They are 2 points behind Philly and the Pens right now for that final WC spot. |

He was for sure. He also had garbage line mates, so we didn't see how much he could drag his partner down... |

That's what they need to match last year. To make the playoffs might be a little easier than that |

Dermott was another issue I had. Why was he used so little in year 3? Terrible way of developing him. - RogerRoeper
Babcock when dermott came back (plays great first couple games, then gets 8mins for no reason in like the 3rd game)
He's got to earn his ice time, earn the trust of his coaches. Play the right way.
Babcock 2 weeks before hyman is back:
OMG I can't wait for hyman to come back. My balls are going to explode.
Can't understand why the players gave up on the guy. He basically undermined the talent on this team. To be successful you need the buyin from the core. If you burry the core how you gonna get buy in? |

So they can't compete the rest of the year with the Pens and Flyers and Sabres? Sorry, not buying it.
And the Blues had a much tougher road to get back than the Leafs do right now. |

Yeah the Hyman thing got so over the top it was insulting to the players. Him cutting Matthews TOI 5 freaking minutes from one game to the next and playing Hyman more in his 1st game back in 7 months was a joke. |

I don't get it. Babcock knows his job is on the line and he still never tried the obvious? And his last post game interview he says they need to stay the course and keep grinding. He's insane. Nothing about how this team is built says grinding is the way to go. Nothing about how they are playing says stay the course. This idiot would have pissed the season away doing the exact same thing until the season ended with no playoffs. - RogerRoeper
Judging by the effort last night from Matthews it obviously didn’t matter what Babcock said.
Kaskisuo should punch him in his pouty yap.
Anyway, good game.
Keep playing like that and they may earn another first round beat down. |

Didn't Hyman lead all F in ice time on his first competitive game in 6 months after a surgically repaired ACL tear? |

How many back to backs do we have? Tampa will pass us with their 15 games in hand. Tampa, Florida, Montreal and Boston. There's likely one spot left. Can't see the Leafs being able to get it. Saturday is a big test for us.
Especially is Matthews continues to get so little ice time |

24 games into the season Leafs are 2 points back of the WC. No chance!!! LOL are you people serious?
If only Leafs had the talent and depth of Buffalo, Montreal, Philly and the Pens...
Would any other team be counted out 2 points back?

The more obvious choice might be putting Tavares back on net front duty. He made it look easy last year, and really isn't working in the bumper position. |

A big chunk of our back to backs are done though. Leafs got through the toughest part of their schedule already.
Why in your mind has Montreal and Florida clinched? Just curious. |

nice Leafs got a win last night, but let's not get overexcited .. let's wait until this team plays 20+ games under Keefe before making any conclusions on his awesomeness please. |

He wouldn't have hired keefe, hates dubas snd believes babcock was a victim. He will change his mind if the team plays its next 10 games like last night. For now, its only one game. |
