Auston Matthews on Sheldon Keefe: "Really passionate. He wants us to utilize our skill-sets, he wants us to play free & not that it's a free-for-all for everybody, but he wants us to compete & utilize the God-given talents that we have .... hopefully we can build on this"
Reading all the player comments from last night they’re excited - burn
You could see that on the bench too. They looked like a massive weight had been lifted. Let's hope that it continues |

"I think we're ready for something else, for a different vibe, to find some energy in ourselves, and I thought that was the right plan. We're gonna make it the right plan. We're ready today to come out with some new energy and really find ourselves."
"The boys wanna play for him - lumlums[Keefe]. I think he lets us play to our skill, and that's exactly what we need."
Travis Dermott pre-game interview, for anyone wondering what the player think about the change. But what would they know, eh Max?
Dermott was another issue I had. Why was he used so little in year 3? Terrible way of developing him. |

Hilarious reading Keefe was going into a "Mess". Look at that roster! All he had to do was let the players play and he looks like a genius.

Remember when everyone disagreed with me on how bad Babcock was? I was way ahead of the curve. People jumped on my bandwagon late.
Not using Tyson Barrie on 1st unit PP was INSANE. It makes no sense with the PP struggling so much. - RogerRoeper
I think that you're a bit over-excited here, but there are definitely a few of us that are happy for the change, and happy to see the first win under Keefe come with a stylistic change. Once they've had a few practices and some time then we'll get to see who this team really can be |

I get it's one game but this team has a ton of talent that simply wasn't used right. Leafs are the Blues of last year. |

I don't get it. Babcock knows his job is on the line and he still never tried the obvious? And his last post game interview he says they need to stay the course and keep grinding. He's insane. Nothing about how this team is built says grinding is the way to go. Nothing about how they are playing says stay the course. This idiot would have pissed the season away doing the exact same thing until the season ended with no playoffs. |

They sure played like a mess though!
Wasn't a second too early to kick out Babs.
They would probably have won with my grandma as a coach last night - 90% of the players seems to be relieved that he's gone! |

It's so dumb to have that roster and limit their talent and play them like a bunch of 4th line pluggers. He's lost it |

It's the new guys fault that the pp that's struggled for a while now (before him) continued to struggle while not changing.
Bring in a pp specialist, make him a shutdown guy. Wonder where it went wrong. |

I was of course talking about the Leafs, but you're 100% correct on that one. The bottom 6 on EDM is horrendous! (the D has gotten a lot better though).
To the other guy asking to "take bets on the Leafs missing"...no fargin way! haha
I'm just pissed about the coach firing, but the Leafs roster is stacked. You just need a few heart and soul guys to "motivate" the prima donna superstars.
