I expect the team to come out skating hard for the first 5-10 minutes of the first period.

Nah man, the Sabres! After that, they’ll feel that they’ve put in a good night’s work and take the rest of the evening off.

I think the book on this group is they are soft, and can be mentally affected far easier than most teams. Every team employs different strategies to control their opponents. The question is how deeply does it affect a team? Boston overcomes and asserts itself, Buffalo currently becomes increasing mentally and physically fragile. I think a large portion of this can be traced to players desire to be in a given situation. We have players accepting less to be with certain teams, and demanding more or even refusing to be with others. This can make it very difficult to have the type of locker room and mental intensity this sport demands.

interesting stats on josh allen

good to compare as last season he had 320 passing attempts, at this point 317 for this season

completion % up 7.5% 52.8 to 60.3
yards up 100
average per play 6.9 up from 6.5
td's 20, up from 18 last year
13 turnovers, down from 16

13 turnovers in 10 games is not bad for a rushing qb

NO IMPROVEMENT

In all seriousness, his growth is impressive. Did not like the pick at the time, but he has grown on me a lot

ehhh...... Until the Bills can score points regularly they are nothing more than mediocre playing an EXTREMELY WEAK schedule. The AFC has a lot of bottom feeders - and the Bills beat those teams - but they can't beat a good team.

Josh Allen is QBing in the most pass-friendly NFL in 100 years of NFL, and he still cannot sniff 300 yards in one game. He's nothing more than a placeholder until we find a real franchise QB. He's done nothing Tyrod hasn't done, and against a much easier schedule than Tyrod played.

Does anyone really think they'll be within 15 points of Baltimore?

Wonder if Zucker and Ryan or Fiala and Foligno could be plucked from the Wild and what it would take.

I agree, similar to the 49ers yes they have a great record but play a hell of a 3 game schedule. So when they lose three straight are they not the same team that was undefeated for so long?

Id like to be confident my team can score a touchdown rather then thinking fg every drive and ever now and again getting a TD

He needs to make the same jump next season if we want success IMO.

Well we will see depends on are defense. Don't really care if he throws for 300 yards, I will take 150 as long as he puts a few of those throws in the Endzone, and keeps the chains moving

What jump? He needs to learn how to play QB and not RB. He still routinely misses open receivers down the field on long passes, and frequently misses wide open receivers because he cannot go through his progressions fast enough. Those are huge problems. Career-defining problems.

That is a recipe for no success. Yes, on a year with a really, really weak schedule you can run up 10 wins because of the defense (who is 100% legit). But, you're not beating any complete team with a high school offense. And, frankly, that's what he is best at running. We haven't seen the best of Josh Allen yet because they keep trying to call passing plays for him like he can break down a defense. I'd love to see a game where they have 20+ RPOs or designed runs for him. If the Bills did that, they could maybe win a playoff game. Not going to win a SB that way, but I'd love to see one playoff win.

How to beat the Sabres? Be the current team playing them. I am giving Botts until January 2021 but if we still suck then, Mr. Potato head with hair is being shown the door.

For sure. It's good to see him improve on areas of weakness though. When I gave up on EJ was when I realized he couldn't hit a 5 yard slant to save his life. I know people are worried about the deep ball, but I think he'll figure it out

I turned on the instigators today and the first thing i heard was that the bruins are undefeated at home with a 7-0-3 record. Immediately changed the station.

Pegula hired and supported a GM who’s plan was to take a great setup for a rebuild and trade away all our assets for players right away when the top picks we tanked for weren’t even close to ready.

The strategy of trading for Kane and O’Reilly early before the top picks matured was flawed and although most loved it at the time, anyone with a brain could see it was unnecessary risk.

We took a situation where we had accumulated so many picks and assets and traded it away to get better right away, at the cost of picking high for a few more year, drafting and developing our prospects, just because Pegula bought into Murray’s egomaniac philosophy.

That’s 100% on Pegula. He hired and supported what Murray wanted to do. Murray came in saying rebuilds don’t have to take years, and our dimwit owner bought into it.

The current state of the Sabres is 100% Pegula’s fault.

If we had done a conventional rebuild, with all the draft picks and assets Darcy had acquired, we would be in a very different situation right now. We had one of the highest ranked prospect pools at the time along with many extra high draft picks accumulated.

Does Pegula send Pachla a check to make sure he says nice things about him?

The leaders and the best players are all pulling in the same direction - and pulling more than their share of the weight - but other than the 3 forwards, you could ask the rest: "what would you say you do here?"

PK sucks
No secondary scoring
Eichel is doing the fighting

It's a poop show. Mojo's return will help somewhat, but at some point some of these poopty forwards have to show up to do SOMETHING because JB is just going to sit on his hands
