I don't recall anyone saying this roster is good enough.

Point to where any one of us said that.

Now I agree with not using the buyouts, we weren’t winning the cup this year anyways if we had a few extra million to spend. I’d rather not be paying Sobotka’s $1M cap hit next year.

Yeah pretty much

We are a .500 team that won't make the playoffs unless there is pretty substantial move made

- Stripes77

And .500 gets you about 90 points with OT losses.

Make a move, get Dahlin track, fix the PK, push for a spot.

Dahlin's play over the last month has been a huge hit to the team and their offense output that's for sure.

He looked much better against Boston

Yup. Agree on both

On another note, Calgary is laying an egg against The Flyers. It’s a bigger mess there. They want the GM’s head on a platter for the Neal trade, they want the coach fired, they want trades made. I hope Botts has them on speed dial

Grow up.

This is what you said, word for word:

I don't see how you of all people can look at this roster and the way they have been playing and not see this is a cluster of a roster that is nowhere near good enough top to bottom to be a legit playoff team.

To which I said, where did anyone of us say this roster was good enough?

Did Broads say this roster was good enough?

Perhaps you should grow up and learn to piece together a conversation

The Sabres needed to change the lines a bit and start to play better.

They tweaked the lines and were better than the Bruins for 75% of that game, and the only difference was Rask robbed Erod on the PP and robbed Sheary early.

I have faith that Connor Sheary, Erod, Skinner, Mittelstadt aren’t going to go 0-for the remainder of the season, and if Dahlin plays like this we’re in for some good hockey

- sbroads24

Then he later added after my post that a trade does need to be made

So again follow a conversation or stay out of mine

I would love to make a deal with the Flames but any of their bigger pieces is going to cost a pretty penny

My fear is Botts makes a trade for Bennett, which won't be enough to move the needle imo

Oh 100%, maybe I misinterpreted your post.
- Pegullaville

No, you are right about the buyouts, but was just thinking it could have helped Botts actually be able to make a move, wouldn't have to be so exact with money in money out.

Sounds like another Buffalo sports team.

Over the past number of years the Broncos game is exactly the type of game the Bill's tend to lose, and it throws the whole season into disarray.

That said, be careful boasting too early, Allen has shown a keen ability to rally in the 4th.

And when you make a comment about how the Bill's beat a bunch nobodies and should be discredited for it...IF the Bill's were to win, what does that say about the Broncos.

It reminds me of OJ Simpson's perfect response to a Miami OL player when the media reported he said to them the week leading up to their game: "Imagine if OJ ran behind our Offensive Line", it was an attempt to discredit the Bill's OL as a reason for OJ's tremendous success that season.
OJ had the perfect response when he stuck-up for mercury Morris as a great RB, but then stated..Obviously his OL doesn't think too much of him.
What a terrific turn of events, especially off the cuff.

See this is why we don’t deserve good things. All summer around here it was Erod and Nelson buzz. Now we are freaking out about John Gilmour who is a fringe NHL player at best.

Whichever team claimed Gilmour would have had to of kept him on their NHL roster for a minimum of 30 days. Sabres would of had first claim on him otherwise if the team who claimed him then sent him down.

There was a small chance he would of gotten claimed.

- Pegullaville

It's funny to see the panic when we waive guys. How attractive could our depth guys possibly be to other teams?

How many 1st overall picks have 10 goals in their 1st 100 nhl games?

Matthew's had 4 in his 1st game.

I get that dahlin is a defenseman, but he needs to score some goals

He’s not even rated as an AAA or AA under 24 asset now. They’ve got several under 24’s rated higher. Eichel is rated AA

Good article.
We'll see if Ralphie-boy can straighten out the team to get them to play the system more consistently.

I don't believe this to be true but here it is

https://www.nhltraderumor...res-send-trade-offer.html

The Sabres have been in contact with the LA Kings and have made an offer for forward Tyler Toffoli which included one of Marco Scandella or Zach Bogosian, to balance out the money, along with a 2nd round pick. The Kings are said to be waiting on the market for Toffoli to unfold, as the right winger is heating up as has 6 goals and 12 points, after a very slow start.

- homiedclown

So basically,
a 2nd and a 3rd pair defenseman for Toffoli

If LA wants more than that, i hang up
He’s a pending UFA who’s been healthy scratched this season
