I still doubt risto gets moved

so in 2021 when dahlin needs to be extended

eichel 10 mil
skinner 9 mil
let's say 7.5 mil for reinhart
6 mil for okposo
5.4 mil for risto
3.8 mil for miller
let's say 6 mil for montour
and say dahlin does a bridge deal at 6 mil per

that's 54 mil for 8 guys

you can argue 2 or 3 mil on those three deals but let's use 54 mil as a baseline

you still need 14 guys
let's say the cap goes up to 85 mil

31 mil for 14 guys are a tad over 2 mil per body

joker, olofsson and casey will probably be over that mark for sure

pretty sure even with 6k will be over the 4 mil for the 2 goalies
even if best case, you get your 2 goalies at 4 mil, joker, casey and olofsson at 2 mil per

thats 10 mil for 5 guys so now you have 21 mil for 9 guys

let's say you lock up toffoli at his current price of 4.5, your not getting him on a 1 year deal so figure 4 years 18 mil, best case

now you have 16.5 mil for 8 guys and your in cap hell if you want to add 1 decent contract

I dont see the 19 million allotted for sam, okposo and risto.

Faces need to be changed. All 3 have been here for all the losing.

Probably Not trading anyone jbotts acquired or resigned.

When Gilmour is claimed I will be very happy with our management.

See this is why we don’t deserve good things. All summer around here it was Erod and Nelson buzz. Now we are freaking out about John Gilmour who is a fringe NHL player at best.

Whichever team claimed Gilmour would have had to of kept him on their NHL roster for a minimum of 30 days. Sabres would of had first claim on him otherwise if the team who claimed him then sent him down.

There was a small chance he would of gotten claimed.

Bogoasian clearly is the spark of our playoff climb ...... (sarcasm)
- Sabretooth9

All kidding aside, bogo will add some toughness .

Aside from secondary scoring, we need a physical presence

The real question is how many games does he play before he needs surgery again? What’s the over / under?

You know what we should actually be talking about though, how Joker is going to sit tomorrow and how he is probably likely to be sent down to Rochester.

Someone posted this about Babcock, Matthews and I have to say I agree. The ego’s of these players today are ruining the game

I must admit when Babcock had to go to Matthews home in the off season “to clear the air” you knew something was wrong. There is no doubt in my mind Matthews is a good hockey player but I never remember Scotty Bowman going to Guy Lafleur’s home to clear the air, especially when they won Five Stanley cups in a row.

I'd say if I were wagering +/-15 before he misses a game due to injury

Paying 5/1 on actual surgery again.

He could be a spark that we need to get over this hump.

The bruins game would have been a "good" lost if we wernt 1-9-2. Just a regular loss to a good team. Unfortunately losing is contagious around here

How much "air" needs to be cleared when you win 5 cups in a row?

I don’t hear anyone going to McDavids house. We need some more good old Canadian boys

You now what I don't get, is Buffalo had what 2 buy out options this year, yeah maybe it wouldn't have been a lot of savings but it still would have given a little wiggle room. ROR bonus screwed the return on that trade, kinda seems the Pegulas won't do what is necessary sometimes

Babcock just referred to himself in the 3rd person in an interview a few weeks ago.

Not sure it’s Matthews ego that was the issue

Now I agree with not using the buyouts, we weren’t winning the cup this year anyways if we had a few extra million to spend. I’d rather not be paying Sobotka’s $1M cap hit next year.

Kinda points to this this year being another building year.
Buyouts eventually hurt, probably when were a better team

It’s amazing how they want as many players from last years roster as possible

(Truly I think he thought he was going to be able to make trades by now)

The Pegula’s are done paying people not to work for them anymore.

It’s why people should just forget about Botterill/Krueger getting fired anytime soon

Things could get really fun if they test the Dahlin-Bogo combo again and it looks good.
That might give them cause to pause on jettisoning Bogo at the TDL.

McCabe, Scandella and Risto pack your s###. We need 2 more top 9 forwards.

Dahlin-Montour
Miller-Joker
Pilut-Bogo
Gilmour

With Bryson, Borgen, Nelson, Fitzgerald all ready to play in a pinch if needed

Some promising/good news (for a change) : Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has been ridiculously good for Cinci. He has a .934 SV% and 1.56 GAA in 6 games.

I do like his “Truculence” and think the team needs a little more of it. It will be good to have that in the line up. But you need to find it long term because I doubt they resign him in the offseason. I know Borgen is coming...

Is bogo back tomorrow? Or just activated? And how much longer on mojo? This team has missed him a lot!

I’m fine with a building year. All I’ve wanted out of this year is competitive, fun hockey that shows some progress and maybe sneaks into the playoffs. I loved October. I despised November. Find some consistency, play more games like Boston and I’ll be happy. Find a vet center and I’ll be ecstatic.....

Absolutely fine with this! Can you add a middle 6 wing and a vet center now, please!
