he has been dinged up here and there
- homiedclown

If you're talking about Mattias Samuelsson, he just scored his first goal of the season tonight.

I'm usually against desperation moves but (frank) it. Make a big splash, even for a rental.
- buffalofan19

Mike Hoffman as a pending UFA? It'll never happen with Florida being in playoff contention, but he's from Ontario, and would he break the bank on his next contract?

Hall is who I would target though.

2 Offers on the table

Player like - Mattias Samuelsson might have be included

- Irish 14

I proposed this lunacy, assuming Calgary has lost their mind and would actually trade Gaudreau:

Calgary - Gaudreau $6.75M, Kylington $.8M, Frolik $4.3M ($11.85M)
Buffalo - Reinhart $3.65M, McCabe $2.85M, Bogosian $5.14M ($11.64M), Mattias Samuelsson

Money match up? Risto can be a female dog to play against, wouldn't want to have to play against him so much. Keep Risto, trade McCabe and Scandella for whatever you can unless you're talking a top forward
- turbo044

It all but matches up as it would be $5.4M out in Risto and a combined $5.45M coming back in Kapanen and Hyman.

Add the picks and I'd sign off on that deal yesterday.

if you are serious this is why we can't have nice things.

hoping for a beats 4th liner.

my god the psyche of this team's fans is shot.

- BeadyEyedDouche

Why the kid is doing good things in Rochester, for a 4th line Center he has 2 goals and 7 assists down there in 11 games.

If I had the choice really wouldn't want to trade him, I know you have to give to get, but him and Borgen are gonna bring some nice physicality to the blue line that is sorely missing.

I think with all the D depth, on the current roster and in the system, you can afford to give up one of them.

It's always Risto's fault. Whether he's on the ice or not. Risto was on the ice for a goal for and a goal against. But the Sabres lost by one because he missed a pass to a guy who has one goal in a month playing on the top line and PP, but who totally would've scored there(let's not mention a totally blown 3-on-1, or Skinner hitting the post, where if either had gone in Risto still would've gotten blame for having gone to OT), and then once in OT, because, let's be honest it's a foregone conclusion it would've gone there. It's not like Boston would've adjusted their play being tied as opposed to being up by one or anything. And then the Sabres would've won in OT, obviously, all because of one missed pass.
- Wetbandit1

This is a good post, well, except for the fact that Jack lost the opening faceoff, so really, it was all on him

I understand that, but like you said, with all the depth, wouldn't mind seeing a different one used. Don't get me wrong if he helps bring back a good top 6 player, then do it. But for the right player.

Spot on 36.
He's a prospect I really want to see develop into a solid Dman patrolling our blue line.
It's still years away, but will fit the timeline nicely when the Sabres will need young players on their ELC's to be contributing.

They need to find deals involving the older, big ticket Dmen somehow.

That's it ion, could you imagine having a little of McKee and Warrener on the backend, that's basically what Borgen and Samuelsson would bring

The two d-men that need to be moved play the most minutes a night, figure that one out.

three things that could make this team fine right away

1. bump casey to second line wing and put skinner with jack
2. play dahlin and montour 22 minutes every night
3. break up risto and mccabe

I don't believe this to be true but here it is

https://www.nhltraderumor...res-send-trade-offer.html

The Sabres have been in contact with the LA Kings and have made an offer for forward Tyler Toffoli which included one of Marco Scandella or Zach Bogosian, to balance out the money, along with a 2nd round pick. The Kings are said to be waiting on the market for Toffoli to unfold, as the right winger is heating up as has 6 goals and 12 points, after a very slow start.

I like this for the most part.

One of Scandella/McCabe need to be moved, we don’t have room for both.

I wonder what McCabe + Asplund could garner in a trade. I don’t see Asplund being anything more then a 4C and he would need to be exposed to Seattle regardless.
