Moral victory last night, sorry Beedy, at this point I'll take a step in the right direction after watching their past BS play for 11 games.

Of course I want the Sabres to win, who doesn't (well, unless you want Byfield in the 2020 Draft, lol!), but at this point I'm now interested to see if Ralph and his staff can right the ship, to answer the question What do we have with Ralph Krueger as Head Coach. Can Granato make a difference?

This game was a step in the right direction. Jack and Vesey were motivated since it is their home town, but the rest of the team looked like they cared and were engaged, bringing a more aggressive style of play. Finally.

They are severely lacking in finishers up front, and that remains their biggest need, as it has for years. They also need to add in some heart, passion, truculence. Positionally, they need a 2C and 2RW...and it has been that way for a year-and-a-half.

Go get Mikko Koivu from Minny to serve as an on-ice mentor for Casey, and Cozens next year. He's a UFA over 35, shouldn't cost a ton, nominated for Selke 10x, Captain...make it an incentive laden contract when you resign him for another year or even 2 (he can slide down as necessary IF Cozens or Mitts show they're ready during his stint here). He brings passion, and knowledge to mentor those young centers ... an on-ice coach! Give them say Gilmour and Sobotka or Sheary.

Here's another, Go get Alex Tuch from VGK..tough, big, strong RW. It will cost them though, ...make the investment. Vesey, Tage +?

If Botterill can’t find a suitable scorer or two soon, his club will fall into a hole too deep to climb out of.

Ristolainen had two sequences last night that lost us the game

Didn’t hustle and get the puck out on the Bruins first goal, loses Marchand in front and he deflects the goal

Misses Olofsson with a freaking easy breakout pass that ends up icing, tired Asplund then takes a penalty on ensuing face off, they score on that PP.

Him being used as a #1 is once again killing the Sabres

Also, if you're not going to put Skinner up with Eichel, can you at least put him with Mittelstadt. At least he has more of a similar skillset than Rodrigues and Sheary.

skunk is starting to annoy me. He makes some nice little plays sometimes, but they are always quick little plays, quick little passes, rarely carries the puck. I don't think he is able to beat anyone one on one.

Even without tuch, who I doubt they’d move but I’d like it if they did. You can move mitts into that spot and it’s still 10 times better. Botts has forced the center position for over a season now and the kid just ain’t ready. Why is it obvious to everyone but the gm. Heck even Ralph put mitts on mojo’s wing for like a game. Then injuries.
