So, I'm guessing from your posts on this topic that you are not aware that it's extremely common for hockey players to play soccer (or other sports/games) to warm up before games and practices and such.

I can’t say it goes as far back as the beard thing, but playing soccer before the game has become a hockey tradition. It’s one of those things that’s just been done. I did it in the Ontario Hockey League, I did it in Laredo, Texas when I played in the Central Hockey League, I did it in American Hockey League in Worcester, and I did it in San Jose. I don’t know where it came from or what the history behind it is, but it’s one of those things where it seems like every single team does it.

Ive been floating this idea around for awhile. If they dont end up trading him for whatever reason, id love to see him smash people on the forecheck and I think he has the offense to translate.

It would negate his inability to break out of the zone, his propensity to throw it to nowhere often leading to turnovers and being out of position chasing a hit.
