Yeah I'm not trying to make Florida the measuring stick. I'm just saying that if the Flyers won all 82 games in a shootout, who gives a (frank)? We're 21 games in, would I like them to win more games in regulation? Sure, but just in case of a tie breaker in points. If they get in the playoffs though, I'm not really worried about whether they had more ROW than a non-playoff team. - Ftown19125
Exactly. No matter what, you need to face good teams in the playoffs. As long as they make it in, it's a step in the right direction. |

There's such extreme parity in the league now that you take the 2 pts any way you can get them and it's understandable that there are a lot of SO. Your last point is the real focus. |

During the current six-game losing streak that closed the door on the 56-year-old, the Leafs killed off just 56 percent of opposing power plays (9/16). For the month of November, they’re sitting at a paltry 67 percent — giving up 10 goals on 30 chances. It’s the second-worst unit in the league.
That’s obviously bad, and it can’t continue.
Since taking over for the departed D.J. Smith, new assistant coach Dave Hakstol has been overseeing the Leafs penalty kill. Clearly, there are systemic issues here. And it bears noting that over Hakstol’s three full seasons as head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers, that club owned the fourth-worst penalty kill in hockey. |

Yup..The Flyers are struggling right now..
No doubt about it.
Tonight is a huge game simply because they need to stop this streak asap.
I just preferred the normal version of you from the past few weeks to the Die Flyers Die version of you that shows up when they lose. |

Possibly but I’ll wait until they play a few games before dishing out accolades. This team has enough underperformers to the point where I can’t anticipate anything. - Djapana
well yes this is very true, can't argue with that. I would say that I have been thoroughly enjoying Pitlick's game recently as well as Raffl's consistency wherever he is needed. Laughton I think is an upgrade over Andreoff from what we've seen from both, but yes, we know what happens when you assume right? |

Yeah, that's been the problem. On paper their top 9 is deep, even without Patrick and Laughton. They could definitely use another defensively sound forward in the lineup. Team defense has been terrible in my opinion. |

I dunno...
IMO They arent losing due to team defense or goaltending over this streak.
They are losing because they can't score more than 2 goals.

Good teams win in regulation. The issue with a lot of shootout wins or OT wins is that it is a fine line between winning and losing. One play, bad bounce or breakdown and that's a loss. That is teetering on the edge of a losing streak as much as it is winning. The Flyers haven't been scoring enough and are giving up leads late. |

Well that's definitely true too, about not being able to score. But a lot of these games, like the Florida game for example, goaltending kept them in it somewhat. Hart had to make some pretty good saves right in the beginning of the game. I felt like there were a decent amount of Florida forwards wide open right in front of the net as well. |

Sitting in a playoff spot with 7 regulation losses in 21 games is not a dumpster fire. But continue looking at that glass half full. |

I don't need the 4th line to produce, I need them to be competitive and not a weakness. Betts, Powe, and Laperriere weren't great offensive players (Powe led them with 9 goals) but they were a great 4th line because they didn't get caved in night-in and night-out. Also, keep in mind players have been playing out of order due to Laughton and Pitlick missing time. Especially if they can get healthy, I actually am okay with out 4th line even if they're not putting up double-digit points. - jmatchett383
Agree. I really dont understand what people expect. Your 4th line typically plays 5-8 minutes a game. You arent going to get much production regardless with so little ice time |

Thats no different than most games. Unless you completely blow a team out it can always be about luck vs no luck. Games can be decided in regulation by 1-2 lucky plays. There are several of these moments every game. Every whiff on an empty net with the goalie out of position is a perfect example. |

I personally don't care how the wins come, as long as the team wins. I'm not going to be dramatic about it because all of them didn't come in regulation. |

13th forwards don’t play. They are irrelevant. They fight. Sick shootout skills. They baby sit the team captains newborn so the captain is fully rested and ready to go.
That is what a 13th forward is |

So he hasnt costed the team any wins and he hasnt been the reason we won games.
Is that not the definition of irrelevant?
Just adding to ur point |

Gostisbehere's point production is likely going to be under 40 points this year and that may be pushing it. Talking about Pronger hitting the net 9 out of 10 times, well Gost is about the opposite and until that changes his production will be down.
I would like to see Couturier's line start the pp with Giroux and Provorov. The supposedly top line is not getting it done. |
