Meh. They are almost a year apart. Tkachuk is just more NHL ready.
Also, Kotkaniemi had a good game last night...but he plays with Weal and Lehkonen. - stinger67
Hopefully KK develops in a more talent the. Tkachuk cause we might regret this pick. Specially that Tkachuk is big and the kind of player Habs would need.
Hopefully MB finds good players to help KK. I don’t think Lehkonen and Weal are the best fits right there |

I'd take last year's Tkatchuk over this year's Kotkaniemi - MortChicken
They needed a center.
At least this time it seems they have learned and they sticking him at center.
I still think they are screwing with his development. |

The joy of having a GM that's just winging it. We needs centers, gets 8 centers, one which one is going to play at wing now? |

I remember at the time people here were screaming for the Habs to stay away from Tkatchuk |

He was my pick at #3.
Still happy with KK, I think the kid has tons of talent. |

Kostistyn had tons of talent they still should have drafted Jeff Carter |

Are you really comparing KK to Andrei (frank)ing Kostitsyn? Seriously?
Kostitsyn could barely spell his name for (frank) sakes... |

I think the idea was that Tkachuk had less upside than other players at that rank, but was a safer bet to be an effective NHL player.
Can't say that argument has faded all that much. |

I heard on the radio the other day he was still growing (some young men can keep growing until they are 21) which partly contributed to his injuries and some areas of his body to be "weakened".
I'm sure he'll turn out just fine. |

Tkachuk is a horse. He is big, has a lot more speed than people think, sweet hands and great confidence in his game.
Cary Price is the best goalie in the world. Did not think Tkachuk would beat him on the breakaway. Was surprised by the confidence he showed by coming tight on Price and sticking the puck in 5 hole. Kid is going to be a star. - spatso
He scored on a breakaway. Nice move. Nothing more, nothing less. Didn't do much else last night. |
