Very tradable contract for a team looking to get smaller and slower. - rpeters01
Smaller, slower and reduced offense. |

You do realize Bettman wasn't even part of the NHL when these events happened? Or does that even matter?
Unrelated questions:
Was the moon landing staged?
Was 911 an inside job?
Did the FBI really kill Kennedy?
Is Elvis still alive?
And how do they get the caramel inside the chocolate or the cream inside the twinkie? - paulr

Sophomore jinx during junior year would truly suck eggs.

I'm actually kinda sad I caught up on the pages ...
Everything with GB didn't make any sense & the contracts were even worse. Keith, Toews, Kane, players from Minny, & a few others all signed long contracts (past the new allowed norm) after Hossa, but whatever.
But at least we suck, that much I got. Carry on & take care, everybody. See you for the next game. |

Headscratcher here, Buffalo is looking to trade a defenseman for a forward. They must of really thought little of Nylander, if they were short on forward depth. |

I guess Toews also said this when asked what impact of playing the 7D was on them:
“Last couple road games, we had four lines contributing and a lot of pucks going in,” Toews said. “So [we’ll] try and get back to that same style.”

Think the Blackhawks are inconsistent?
Dallas started 1-7-1, and now are on an 11-1-1 run. |

It would seem that, based only on their comments to the media, the guys wearing 3 rings think JC is bat sh*t crazy. |

Or overall, they are mad about being asked to play a system and with partners that they are not familiar with and, fundamentally, do not want to change. IIRC, during the last months/year + of Q's reign, they stopped giving 100% consistently when it was clear it was no longer as easy to win and that the team was nowhere near SC contention.
The remaining core got lucky in having a coach who introduced an innovative system that tapped into their individual skills to the greatest effect for a number of years. Then, the team lost many key role players they could not replace, the remaining players got older and slower, and the NHL figured out how to counteract the system very effectively. (see: CAR game the other night).
Unfortunately for them and the fans, I'm not sure there is a single right answer given the players we have and the skills they bring. Much smarter hockey minds will have to figure that out... |

The title from an article in the Athletic this morning...
Lazerus: Welcome to life on the bubble, where every loss can feel like the apocalypse
Swap out "on the bubble" and replace it with "at the BOD" and he has a winner. - HawkintheD

Want a dramamine bro? Ya need it sometimes with the roller coaster ride fans like to do hanging on every game as if it completely defines who the team is |

Love him or hate him. GB is a big reason we are here chatting about hockey and twinkies as opposed to some chat room on dial up AOL.
Just food for thought. |

I don't care for him on a personal level, but he has done a great job for the NHL, for grassroots hockey in the U.S and for the resulting interest in "non hockey markets". |

You forgot if TWA flight 800 was shot down by a missile from a US navy ship minutes after taking off from New York.

Very true. But, can we not accept the fact that TB is the better team at this stage of our development? I can. With or without the two vacancies you mentioned. - gabriel
TB may be better but surely not unbeatable. 9-7-2 going into the game last night and their backup goalie playing. |

I can't believe how bad Cats hands are this year - BetweenTheDots
Last year he found open space and set up for his shot. This summer he did some skill training with Kane and is trying to do more with the puck. His numbers will be down this year, but long term I am ok with him developing his puck handling skills. He is only 21. |
