I don't agree with you to the extreme you are taking it but I do believe players respond better to a different coaching style these days than guys like Babs.

Uh, did you follow the conversation leading to my post.

Also, I have been very clear that I felt Babcock needed to go, but that this was certainly not *all* his fault.

The original point raised was that, historically, teams have played and succeeded playing for coaches that were less than warm and fuzzy.

My point was that players have changed since then, AND, they can afford to not deal with that crap because they make so much money in their careers now.

It was obvious and it was awful. It was also in the past. What matters NOW is how he performs NOW and in the future.

Personally, and certainly depending on the nature of the infraction, I don't think it's helpful to hold onto grudges. This was lazy and short-sighted by Nylander - and hopefully simply a sign of immaturity and frustration with the negotiations. We're not in his head, but staying mad at the guy for it isn't going to help anyone or anything.

Keeping it in the back of your mind as a questionable character trait is fully acceptable, though.
