I disagree, wouldn't all players be welcomed to show support?
- PatC80

Coach doesn't have time to talk to 18 guys individually.

Captains and assistants are there to act as go-betweens.

Anyhoo, not important now.

you are correct - I'm another guy. a Boomer... an old guy...

I don't "appreciate" snowflakes unless they are on a mountainside.

I don't think Nylander is hugely overpaid based on the comps.

I also don't believe that any rational person can say that it is a "value" contract or "great" contract - 'cause he's played a grand total of 20+ games after the abortion of a season that we are all supposed to ignore last year.

should be pretty clear.

- BorjeFan4Ever

Every post you respond to you go back to talking about Boomers, snowflakes and Nylander(at least you are somewhat relevant). Let it go.

Bracco would actually help this PP today pretty tremendously.

He'd get eaten alive 5v5 though....He has to work on that this year but he has taken a lot of strides.

He has to decide if he wants to be a 2016-2019 Thomas Vanek or a more complete player.

- Santo_44

from very limited views - mostly youtube highlights... I don't think Bracco has NHL skating... edges, shifty yes, pace no where need what it needs to be

Bracco responds well to Keefe.
Datsyuk responds well to Babcock.

now let's see.... which type of player do we prefer responding well to a coach....?
a fringe NHL PP specialist, or an all-star SC winning legend?

- MaximusAurelius

Until Bracco makes the NHL, he's not even a fringe NHL PP specialist.

Sounds a lot like what Brind'amour does.

Defense has the green light to go 100% of the time. Forwards have to be aware and make sure they cover for the D when they jump.

- BINGO!

Speaking of...

Brind'amour was asked about Babcock firing today.

"At the end of the day I think coaches get way too much credit when things are going well and they take the heat when things don't go well. That's what you sign up for."

He needs more development obviously.

He is young and has a lot of talent. Give him time, he has improved a lot over the last two years already.

Dude held out for more money, and when he finally signed, he showed up grossly out of shape.

I just don't know how you can rationalize saying you are worth a ton of money, and not hiring a personal trainer to put you through daily hell-workouts until you sign.

I don't think he'll ever fully erase that stain on his career.

At least not in my eyes.

This very true.

When the pp sucks its all the coach and asst coaches fault
When its rocking, its because the players are awesome

Datsyuk didn't win jack poop responding well to Babcock without Nick Lidstrom.

What's funny about that is that while I like Carolina's roster construction with a great blueline and speedy forwards, I love the way Brind'amour deploys them with such an aggressive forecheck.

I don't think many coaches would get as much success out of that team as he is.

Datsyuk is one of the best players to play in the NHL last 20 years.
You're heavily underestimating him.

But sure - SC are won by teams.

Usually, I'd agree with you..

I just think if you know your coach's job is hanging in the balance and you want to be supportive of the coach, that more than 2 people would show up to offer you their support.

It was obvious and it was awful. It was also in the past. What matters NOW is how he performs NOW and in the future.

Personally, and certainly depending on the nature of the infraction, I don't think it's helpful to hold onto grudges. This was lazy and short-sighted by Nylander - and hopefully simply a sign of immaturity and frustration with the negotiations. We're not in his head, but staying mad at the guy for it isn't going to help anyone or anything.

Keeping it in the back of your mind as a questionable character trait is fully acceptable, though.

Really he and Tulsky just took what Bill Peters implemented initially and took the safety nets out. They just accept that they're going to give up a bunch of chances against on the rush and live with it because they know that the good is going to vastly outweigh the bad if they just keep pressure up all the time.

If that sieve Anderson could actually play a game 7 and make some key saves Babcock would still be employed.

No trades needed.
Everything is fixed removing Babcock.
Playoffs are a lock.
I suggest you bet the farm.

I'm not a fan of kicking someone when they're down, but that's a pretty funny line.
