I'll take your complete capitulation as an ego boost...
and the flip-off as a polite way of saying "Ok Boomer"- so sort of a compliment
I guess the "run him out of town" was a bit of stretch... sort of a parallel if you will for saying Nylander's contract is great...
but I wasn't far off with the Einstein commentary
triggered triggered triggered..
(I'm really enjoying this internet tough guy schtick - us Boomer have so much free time to learn this stuff between embracing our olde guy privilege) - BorjeFan4Ever
you cant engage in a rational discussion...every (frank)ing thing comes back to Nylander for you.
I have never said Nylander contract is great or great value ..his contract is fine.
not a steal, not an overpayment.
thats my take.

With their fancy fruit-phones and their big headphones and pants around their knees.
Why in my day, we would just sign any contract that the NHL teams would put in front of us - it didn't matter if we had to work summer jobs.
It didn't matter if the head of the NHLPA was stealing from us.
It didn't matter that many of us died broke and homeless, with dementia caused by being punched in the face repeatedly.
We did it because we loved the game!
Now I can't even get a decent bowl of porridge for less than $10 - what's the point in even going to the mall?
And another thing - why can't I still watch Front Page Challenge? - Atomic Wedgie
Sorry buddy, this is a Timmies, eh?

I think you are right. It was reported that Rielly and Tavares were the only two that talked to Babs after that Penguins loss. - PatC80
Captain and assistant Captain...no mystery that they would talk to the coach.
but it may be telling that the other "A" didn't go with them. |

Marner Tavares and Rielly would be the last three I'd trade on this team. - MaximusAurelius
All 3 are very good players. Doing this trade will achieve a few things at once though.
1. Improve the defence
2. Provide some relief of paying 4 forwards nearly 50% of the cap
3. Provide enough cap space to re-sign both Muzzin and Barrie
4. Get rid of this stupid home and away split between two assistant captains
5. Make our defense Rielly/Jones, Muzzin/Barrie, Sandin/Dermott/Lillybust.
Assuming Mike Babcock was 100% responsible for the downturn of Rielly, Muzzin and Barrie, that should be a pretty good defence group |

Mo and John are also obviously more mature than the other star players. So they’d likely be more willing to work with Babs. But eventually the overpaid kids got their way. I think that’s what the chat was about. Mo and John basically informed him that he lost the room. - Arctic_AARDVARK
SO Muzzin who's a "gud pro" and been here 5 minutes also stopped listening? Ceci? Moore? The (frank)ing Goat?! Like there's lots of guys there who aren't overpaid or kids really who seemed to just go with the other players. |

They weren't WAY overpaid millenials who literally have nothing to lose since they are already set for life. - Aetherial
Ok
So even if you are dead set on this being true....Do you not want to get a coach that can be successful with these types of people?
I don't agree with you to the extreme you are taking it but I do believe players respond better to a different coaching style these days than guys like Babs. |

I get your take, man. But a lot of us don’t think he deserves that contract, and not just 500k overpaid.. |

Every team has young players. Nothing is going to change that. People who are lamenting that fans are triggered by Babs' old school stuborron and hard nosed ways need to get with the times. You may not like it but it's the reality of the league. |

Maybe. But Willy is on pace for almost 30 goals this year, with very little PP time (and an atrocious PP at that).
Considering his age I would roll the dice he starts to do even better, and then decide if he's the guy to trade. You'd end up getting more anyways.
If he hits 30 and 70 at 6.9m with 4 more years, you can get A TON. |

Muzzin was dialed in. He’s pretty much been our best Dman this year. Muzz is a leader for sure.
I meant the star players (Matthews/Marner/Nylander) quit on babs, and they have too much pull. Mo and John knew this, and told Babs he has to change. He probably said “uh no,” so shanny fired his ass. |
