i am saying you trade Rielly for another D, one who is more suited to play in his own end.
I am not saying trade Rielly for a 7th and move Ceci to his spot - senstroll
If I'm GM , I'm moving a forward for a defenceman. |

Sooooooo...., imagine you were a Columbus Blue Jacket last year:
- Atomic Wedgie
In the NHL Player Poll conducted by the Athletic, the coach players most want to play for:
Cooper & Gallant (23%)
Trotz (11%)
Maurice & Tortorella (6%)
The coach the players would LEAST like to play for:
Tortorella (30%)
Hitchcock (27%)
Babcock (15%)
Carlyle (11%)
Boucher (3%)
Of the coaches that players don't want to play for, only Tortorella is still employed.

The Leafs' defence sucks so franking much, trading Rielly would just further hurt us.
I know what you are saying, but the circumstances dictate that the Leafs must keep him. - Atomic Wedgie
Interesting that Babcock explicitly thanked Rielly.
He's the only gud pro of the Leafs core? Or just bc he was here the whole time when Babcock was there?
Can the coach change assistant captains by the way? |

Rielly has played the past 3 years with Hainsey and Ceci. He had 72 points last season and finished 5th in Norris voting. He's also 25 and making 5 million per. To even think of moving him is crazy |

It's funny that people hear so many times Nylander is millions overpaid they just repeat this nonsense.
Teams will line-up for him. - RogerRoeper
Outside of one person, i havent heard anyone say melander is "millions" overpaid.
I said when he signed, it was for 500gs too much.
If he gets 65 -70pts this season then contract is what hes suppose to be paid |

I think there was division in the room, and Rielly was on Babs side.
Mo obviously still commands the room, but I think we’ll see more of a team leaderships thing happen. They’ll look to Keefe, or whoever Keefe anoints.. |

Really?
I've seen quite a few on here say he is worth no more than 4 million.

What stands out to me the most here is the Martin, Komarov vs "fluff"...WOW what a difference. Kadri vs Kerfoot is quite huge also (but they got Barrie out of that deal).
Leafs fired the wrong guy, this GM should be sent back to Hogwarts. - JLO961

I am not saying trade him and bring back marincin
But...he is really bad in his own end.
I am willing to see how things play out with Keefe though - senstroll
this is absolutely hilarious...Rielly, who has been paired with a new partner this season, who's playing behind a group of underperforming forwards is having a down year from last year.
so - at the moment - he's not as good in his own zone...
"he is really bad in his own end"
Nylander was absolute shyte for 2/3 of a year last year and you did nothing but try and find excuses to blame his "shyteness" on anyone or anything else.
and now the only d man the Leafs have that is legitimately a top 2 type defender in the league.. and you want to run him out of town.
I think it was Einstein... he said something like "there are two things in the universe that are unlimited... the universe itself - and human stupidity"...
oh boy |

Gardiner is now a #5 D making 4 million per. He's playing by far less than ever before
Trading Nylander for a #4 D is a terrible idea. |

Based on what? A hunch?
Babs obviously thought highly of Rielly but I see no evidence that he liked Babs.
According to Mirtle's sources pretty much the entire room was happy he is gone...You'd have to think the other few were at least content with change given how the season has gone. |

its not.
also the only thing I care about the the 5 mil part. As i agree it would be difficult to replace him for the same'ish price.
points, norris voting lol etc..doesnt matter. |
