There was a report on Saturday night by Friedman that teams have contacted the Leafs about Barrie, so of course, in this ridiculous market, that has spun endlessly into Barrie asking for a trade...
... like teams aren't contacting teams on a daily basis about players. - gravyface
This is what I figured. Thanks |

O’dog said yesterday on overdrive that he had inside knowledge that maybe 1 or 2 guys in the room liked babcock... - bryant
always the same made up stories.
same in detroit.
however datsyuk recommends mikheyev to play for babcock.
press guys don't like lou, babcock because they don't give them anything.
dubas is all about PR - 0 content though.
I guess it's a good thing that the change was made - this means that dubas will be gone sooner as well. |

Im not worry about stability right now, just want barrie flying.
Then go back to stability.
Reilly holl
Muzzin barrie
Dermott ceci
Heck even just out barrie and reilly on the top pp unit for a few games. - Fakepartofme
Yup. Agreed. Less Ceci, more Barrie in offensive situations.
More active D on the rush, less D to D stagnant breakouts.
Moar playing to our strengths (speed, skill), less trying to turn us into the Minnesota Wild. |

You think Matthews peaked at age 21? - BINGO!
he is on pace for 50 goals currently.
If only they traded him back when he was good |

Just save this message...Austin Matthews needs a heart transplant. I doubt he'll see a Stanley Cup in his career.
I'm really not trying to pick on him, troll, etc. etc. I just don't see the right attitude from this player. Something is amiss with this team and I think it's the attitude of one of it's best players. I would trade Matthews right now. (for example, I bet the Oilers would have traded Draisaitl for Matthews straight up last year...but not now, no way). - JLO961

I had the NHL network on in the background last night while I was doing some work and thought I heard that there are rumblings that Barrie may be leaning toward or has already hinted at requesting a trade. Is that true or at least being reported by anyone reputable? - RickJames77
My sources have confirmed......
You are lying about working, you jobless homeless salt bath poop shoot hooping bruin loving ma'facker.
But i did hear one analyst say that if he was barries agent hed be asking for a trade. |

It's because he peaked at a similar age and thinks everyone else did as well. |

Habs pretty much dominated but failed to score.
Once again, we're getting beaten by bad teams and winning vs good ones. It's getting silly. - Scabeh

He is also only 21 and just landed that contract. Ok we can say he is no McDavid or Crosby that came into the league much more level headed...But you dont just trade this guy, and only for Draisaitl.
Even on this dismal team right now and crappy ice time look at his point production.

I think people are missing my point, Matthews is AWESOME! amazing, great, #1C, etc. etc. but I would explore trading him to see what's out there. Everyone's defense of him on here is proof that the market value is extremely high. Personally I think there is an attitude problem here and why not look at getting a new "almost as good" C with a better spirit and more passion, and a 1D or 2D or 1G? That's all I'm saying. I bet you could have gotten Draisatil or Nuge, combined with Klefbom or Nurse (maybe both), and picks etc. etc. last year...now...no way. There is a question about Matthews' passion and drive now..."coach killer" is going to be discussed in teh coming months/years). I'm just saying I would have explored those options...and I certainly would have done that before firing farking Mike Babcock! - JLO961
Usually, it's because when you trade a player of that caliber for multiple pieces, it doesn't work out in your favor. I figured you'd know a thing or two about that.
Oh no, never mind. The Oilers just went the 'ol 1 for 1 route. That really worked out. |

Where the hell have you been?
Press guys (frank)ing love Babcock because he's always happy to stand in front of them and pump his own tires. Guys have been sucking off Lou for decades like he's some sort of god and not just a dude who was lucky enough to have Scott Steven, Scott Niedermeyer and Martin Brodeur fall into his lap. |

5 head coaches in a row that have failed to coach the leafs to a playoff series win.
Time to change that keefe - Fakepartofme
crazy to think that Ron Wilson couldn't get something out of the team. I mean... its Ron Wilson...self proclaimed guru....master of motivational speaking ...
"let's go"...
can't wait to see what Keefe's go to will be... hopefully more animated that Babcock...

Maybe they can get a first overall pick for him and draft a number one centre. |

I agree with this 100%, but I'd explore the option. Personally I'd rather have Draisaitl PLUS, or Larkin PLUS, or RNH PLUS, or Monahan PLUS etc.
Hell, I bet you could have traded Matthews straight up for McKinnon two years ago!
What about Barkov? Eichel? Malkin?
and if you are going to keep these young studs with their sheitty attitude and slow maturity...Babs is 100% the guy to grow them up, and if they're not growing up...HE should be the one to tell management. Dubas has no clue, he's playing Playstation with this team.
