90%?

Hyman probably cried himself to sleep he already put a massive down payment on a 150 foot yacht.

- Santo_44

I know there's some hyperbole in that statement, but Hyman has 100% earned his spot. He may not have 1st line hands or offensive instincts, but he has a motor that makes any line he's a part of effective. The fact that he can be play against top line competition and not be outclassed (like Moore, as an example) shows that perhaps he does belong there.

Put barrie with reilly.....let them go.
We know the d is bad, but lets get barrie going, get his confidence back up.
Then separate and put a responsible d man with each.
Ceci to 3rd pair.

- Fakepartofme

I'd rather see Rielly Holl, Muzzin Ceci, Dermott Barrie, because I think that gives each rover a stable partner. In Muzzin/Ceci's case, I think Muzzin could cover for a lot of Ceci's gaffs.

Mike Babcock didn't give Nylander all of that money and he is not the one that didn't trade Matthews at his peak.

Leafs fired the wrong guy.

I had the NHL network on in the background last night while I was doing some work and thought I heard that there are rumblings that Barrie may be leaning toward or has already hinted at requesting a trade. Is that true or at least being reported by anyone reputable?

I agree but he pumped his tires way too much.

To the point where Hymans agent could of used how “important” Babs thought he was to the team.

I have no problem with Hyman. He's a useful player, and while he may not have soft hands or great vision, he's a human torpedo on a line that needs some jam on the forecheck. I think he should actually go back up and play with Matthews, because Tavares and Marner are more apt to get in on the forecheck than Nylander, who's more of a head's up playmaker (with an underated shot that he's using a lot more this year).

Just like dubas has no formal training.....oh wait he has a degree in sports management, the very field he works in.

Max adds nothing of value, much if not all of he says is completely untrue.

- burn

I am joking when I say this...not picking on Dubas...

Hyman also played for Keefe already.

many players are going to have an easy transition to the new coach

Lou & Babcock vs Dubas & Keefe

Gardiner vs Barrie
Zaitsev vs Ceci
Borgman vs Schmaltz
Kadri vs Kerfoot
McElhinney vs Sparks/Hutchinson
Brown, Marleau, 2 1st rounders, Durzi, Grundstrom vs Muzzin and capspace
Martin, Komarov, Lindholm vs Petan, Spezza, Shore
Mikheyev vs no Mikheyev

Let's agree that the Lou&Babcock combination has already proven to be quite a bit better than the Dubas&Keefe side.

- MaximusAurelius

What stands out to me the most here is the Martin, Komarov vs "fluff"...WOW what a difference. Kadri vs Kerfoot is quite huge also (but they got Barrie out of that deal).

Leafs fired the wrong guy, this GM should be sent back to Hogwarts.

There was a report on Saturday night by Friedman that teams have contacted the Leafs about Barrie, so of course, in this ridiculous market, that has spun endlessly into Barrie asking for a trade...

... like teams aren't contacting teams on a daily basis about players.

We havent had a stud center SINCE Sundin and you want to trade this guy?

Sundin is one of my favorite all time players. But AM is something quite special. He needs a bit more maturing but that SHOT of his is something else.

You my friend are enjoying the marry jane a bit to much.

Im not worry about stability right now, just want barrie flying.
Then go back to stability.
Reilly holl
Muzzin barrie
Dermott ceci

Heck even just out barrie and reilly on the top pp unit for a few games.

there maybe another benefit to Babcock being let go..

the restrictive Right Left dman nonsense - there's lots of instances of defensemen playing their offside ... somewhat successfully as well.

not sure what Keefe did with the Marlies... whether he was strictly right left.

we'll see

Habs pretty much dominated but failed to score.

Once again, we're getting beaten by bad teams and winning vs good ones. It's getting silly.

Just save this message...Austin Matthews needs a heart transplant. I doubt he'll see a Stanley Cup in his career.

I'm really not trying to pick on him, troll, etc. etc. I just don't see the right attitude from this player. Something is amiss with this team and I think it's the attitude of one of it's best players. I would trade Matthews right now. (for example, I bet the Oilers would have traded Draisaitl for Matthews straight up last year...but not now, no way).
