Lots of coaches on the hot seat as contending expectations are not playing out. No surprise Babs is gone maybe the Flames take him to distract from their struggles.

But for Canucks its a "try to make playoffs" benchmark. So JB has probably given Green the whole season to prove what he can do with better talent.

Brock needs to position himself better to pull the trigger, and that’s all he should be doing out there. He’s been putting himself at a weird angle lately... Not sure WTF they’re thinking out there.
- DrChristianTroy

I agree imo it’s on Brown & also the pp is too static. There seems to be no fluidity let alone creativity in his system.

The #Canucks at 5-on-5 in November have:

- Out-attempted opponents by 70
- Out-shot opponents by 29
- Out-chanced opponents by 16
- Have been outscored by 9
- Are shooting 4.4%

VAN was genuinely bad on Tuesday in Dallas, but they'll be fine if they keep controlling play.
---------------------------
So they might have a few more really good and really bad games?

So if your perception is the Canucks are trying to make the playoffs, wouldn’t the expectations be for the team to win games, try to compete in games.

Exactly - I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but based on what we’ve all seen Petey/Hughes/Boeser accomplish w/extra ice (improvisational puck-on-a-string dominance), imagine Brown thinking he’s worthy of drawing up X’s & O’s for them on the PP. FFS just put together a compatible unit & let them go create. I don’t want Newell (frank)ing Brown’s creative limitations dictating what we’re able to see from those talents.

He does play 16 minutes a game. Even though he's tied for 12th on team scoring with 2 points in 14 games. RFA at the end of this year though. Columbus might be wise to get something for him.

How about Robert Hagg then?

The Sedins were masters of a set play, but these guys aren't that, I agree don't overthink it, and just play ice hockey😁

I'd like to see a more simple, old school look , and play the point shot with Myers taking a one-timer

Might make it hard for NB to justify his job with a 100 year old proven way

I like both players, doubt Anderson is available and think Ferland will a similar role when healthy. Hagg would be a nice addition, not sure what philly would want back.

Would cost then Gaudette though IMO. I'd probably do it.

Getting scored on 1st has them chasing a lot of games piling up those numbers.

Its not a perception its a stated goal by the club backed up with action on their player moves. They have been competitive for the most part apart from last night. But in this slump very bad execution and miscues has them losing.

The point of the post on coaching is whether you hate Green or not he's not under the same pressure to lose his job in season.

Opposite is actually true, teams are more likely to get a goal or rebound resulting in a goal from a wrist shot.

Everybody is available for a price. Whether it's worth it or not is a different question.

Ferland is still a bit smaller than Anderson. He's one of the bigger guys in the league that uses his size.

I asked a few Philly guys about Hagg and they said they think he could become a good 3rd pairing guy. He's big and physical, can't say I know anything else about Hagg's game.

With TO pulling the trigger on Babcock this early in the season it put other coaches on watch whether they like it or not. I'd say Green and Bill Peters have the next 20 games to get their houses in order.

I've said before I think they will give Green until next season but then sh!t like the Babcock thing happens it has other impacts across the league.

- LordHumungous

I just hope they don't have any crazy ideas about hiring Babcock
