I've been wondering why they don't set the D pairings this way and even out the ice time for a while now. Seems logical to try putting your 3 more offensive Dmen on all 3 pairings to get something going

Even though your best defenders might be your best defenders, they might not be the best pairings together.

Edler needs someone to cover his shin pad shooting. Myers was never going to do that. Edler needs someone to never leave the front of the net to cover his wandering. Myers wasn't going to do that.

I don't like having Stecher playing with Edler on the first pairing. To me those lines make Tanev and Hughes the top pairing and still as soft as (frank).

The Canucks got better payers on defence this year but the mix just isn't going to work.

I dunno about that. He has done pretty well the last few years considering he only has 2 or 3 NHL Dmen in front of him on any given night

It just looks like one step forward, one step backwards. I expect a better game than against Dallas the other night. (not hard to accomplish) but I don't know if they win this game unless Rinne sucks.
