Not going to fire a coach that was just extended. We’re stuck. |

Only going to get worse after they dump Hall, Simmonds and Vatanen. |

I think there is a good chance you see him to the end of the season then fired. I can't imagine that Hynes is making top dollar, and the team will recoup the losses of his contract by having a real coach and winning games. |

I hope so. Outside of Hall going superhuman for most of a season and willing us into the playoffs, this team has done jack poop under Hynes. PDB coached teams looked more competitive with considerably less talent.
I’d give Guy Boucher a shot, he’s the complete opposite of Hynes, strict system and a high energy personality. This team plays like John Hynes press conferences. |

I think the biggest tell that Hynes is a bad coach is that we know the team is poop yet there haven't been any big changes to what the team is even trying to do. They are just going out trying to do the same thing better and it's clear that it doesn't work. It's not like Hynes is trying something radically different either. It's just skate up the ice and try to score on the rush over and over. |

I didn’t see this game but the beat down by Boston featured our ‘dump and don’t chase’ offense. |

I would love to hear Fitzgerald comment on what’s going on since he’s been on the bench for like 10 games or so. |

Right now we are 30th in a 31 team league.
We’ve also scored the fewest goals in the league and are sporting the 2nd worst goal differential. We stink. Not a news flash.
How can Managment sit on this? There is no injury excuse this year. Just a poopty run team. |

I guess we save money by paying just 1 head coach (hynes) instead of 2 with an empty arena.. instead of paying 2 coaches with a winning arena? |

I totally agree. Management can’t sit on this any longer. This notion of not firing Haynes because he got a contract extension is ludicrous. I feel he only got that extension to somewhat show Hall (who likes Haynes as a coach) that this coach isn’t a lame duck and sign his extension.
This system isn’t working, the players have tuned this coaching staff out. Take last night’s game…. Rested and outshot 17-6 in first against a team that is playing 3 games in 4 nights. THAT CAN’T HAPPEN!!!
Two games in a row giving up 2 goals in under 30 seconds in early third to put games out of reach.
Goal differential of minus 20 in 3rd period this year is…… Did I just get transported back to 1982-83!!!
How about sitting some players that keep making mistakes like Wood and playing Boqvist for longer than one game?
Tonight, we will win because the team feels embarrassed about the last 2 games and then it will be back to the same lackluster performances next week that this owner’s and management seems to not care about.

They are so bad that TC cant even bring himself to write a pre or post game blog about them. He might as well just copy and paste at this point. Not knocking you Todd. They are just a bowl of Johnsons |

Jack was great. He was flying and beating defenders left and right. You could see the star quality that he was drafted for. |

I think I’m pulling for Detroit in this one. The wins only let Managment pretend we’ve turned a corner after a few horrible losses. |

30 home games remaining, 29 after tonight. Season tickets are sold already, as are many ticket packages and single game tickets, plus however large a group are buying tickets the day of even though the team is bad. A new coach wouldn’t change things immediately, so even if they become an exciting team, fans aren’t going to be flocking to games immediately. So we’re talking about additional ticket revenue and in-arena purchases for 15-20 games, for what, 1000-1500 more fans?
Yeah, it probably doesn’t make financial sense to hire another coach. And since they very clearly are not concerned with fan morale, I’m not sure what the reason to bring in someone new would be.
Just let people suffer through the season, then at the beginning of next season, we’ll maybe have a new coach and hopefully have a new top-3 draft pick (plus a mid-tier prospect to replace our best player and an only-moderately-developmentally-stunted Jack Hughes) and they can try to sell fans on why next year will be exciting and different. |

I care more about the islanders game than ours. got Varlamov in fantasy and need a lights-out performance. I'm planning my night to be back in time for the 3rd period.. and don't even care to watch tonight's joke. |

Bratt, Zacha, and Mueller out tonight. Seney called up so he's playing and I guess that means Hayden and Colton whoever is going to play. |
